Sorry he's gone. I couldn't get enough of him up to about Sum of all Fears where he kind of lost me.

Loved his military stuff tho his book with General Franks turned me off cold since Franks was the worst tank commander who ever lived and was threatened with replacement in the Gulf War by Schwartzkopf for being 2 days behind the rest of the corps.

I liked some but not all of his newer stuff. Rainbow Six was really great and some of his later ventures into cyber space crime, theft, & punishments weren't bad.

Sad to lose him at such a young age.

Clancy was my favorite author when I was a teenager/young adult, still one of my favs to this day. So sad that the world has lost a great writer.

He wrote some really good stories, but I think his best was easily "Without Remorse".

I loved all the Jack Ryan stories. Those were books that I just couldn't put down. I have to admit though, after 9-11 I couldn't help but connect the idea to Debt of Honor. That story, along with Executive Orders is my favorite combination of reads.

The Clark character... he is the total Bad Ass. His prequel story is also at the top.

Bummer news for sure.

Read all of his Net Force books when I was a kid. That series, along with Hatchet are the books that got me into reading.

RIP.
