I'm looking for a new ISP currently, my 2 year obligation with Century link has run out, and I have no desire to stay. The problem is I can't find any of the ones I've heard about that service my area aside from Century Link and their scrubby service, any suggestions?

I've tried Frontier, and Rainier connect no go on those in my area.

I live on the edge of Orting in Graham just for reference.

I've been seeing ads for Dish satelite service that you can get supposedly anywhere. Not sure what their strenth is. Can't be any worse than Century. Isn't theirs only about 4 per second?

Something to consider. We've had their TV for years but if you use Sunday Ticket that's out. But nothing will keep us from our Comcast computer even tho its expensive.

BTW NFL's Sunday Ticket contract with Direct TV is up after this season and I have read and heard Goggle is going to bid on it. That's a $50 billion company bidding against a $50 million dollar company so the outcome seems predetermined. lol

I also have heard Direct is losing money on the deal now but if they lose Sunday Ticket they are going to have a tough time surviving alone. If Goggle gets NFL Ticket their service will get better but I'd wager the cost will go way up.

You're turning your back on the Seahawks if you opt out of Century Link.

Some people are able to get fiber optic Internet from their local utility company. You typically have to pay for them to run the line to your house, but once you do that, they generally offer super-fast access at a very low price. At least, that's the case for those I know that have it through a local utility.

I should have mentioned that we had Hughes net before"satellite" and it friggin sucked so bad.
At max speed it couldn't handle Itunes alone, let alone download or stream a movie.

DSL quality of service varies wildly. If you're close to your telco's central office, you have good service. If you're not, you don't.

No Richard, I'm not mad anymore.

Called Century LInk up, they hooked me up with more speed, and lowered my bill $20.

That's awesome.

I get about 8 down, and almost nonexistent up, for $57 a month.

Yay Comcast! :|
