  • I just got turned on to this guy. I think he's got the goods. Backup band is pretty solid too. Is he well known in the pacific northwest? He's from Washington I believe.

Worthy of starting a thread I think.

RIP Les. We will miss you.

  • I'm pretty familiar with him. Seen him a couple of times in very small venues, but he's gaining a lot of steam. He did the national anthem at the 49ers vs Seahawks game last season.

  • Good stuff.
So you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil?

  • Pretty sure he sang the National Anthem at the December beat down of the Whiners. I know was involved somehow. 12th man flag or halftime performance maybe?

    Yep.

That and the living room version of Unaware that Glove posted ^^up there^^ are the 2 best things I've heard from him. Bought his album when it came out a couple years ago and listened to it maybe twice through. Just wasn't my thing. Dude can sing though.

  • I worked with his sister in college and she was always talking about his music and what he was up to. So we all listened and thought "yeah, kaylee's brother makes damn good music". Then all of sudden he's on Conan, singing the anthem at Seahawks games, opening for Dave Matthews, and playing on a Macklemore album and our jaws hit the floor. I really like his stuff, and it's awesome that so many people dig it.

  • Ever since his National Anthem last year, I've been a huge fan. Dude is unbelievably talented and has an excellent sound.

It's important to note that Earl Thomas is a huge fan of Allen as well!

  • Yes he killed the national anthem in that clip. wow.

zerohero65 Great anecdote. That's the kinda stuff I was hoping to hear about. It's always awesome when someone you know makes good.
