  • Sad. First saw them in August '85 at the Mountaineers' Club. Way too young.

  • My good friend died unexpectedly at the age of 40 from liver failure. Turns out, his liver was compromised from 25 years of exposure to paint chemicals being in the auto body/restoration business. He admittedly didn't take proper measures to protect himself during those years. Having said that, he was an alcoholic who drank excessively, daily. The last year of his life his drinking elevated from beer to vodka. Although it is true I will always say he died at 40 because of both factors, ultimately I feel it was the booze that took his life.

I don't know the circumstances in Jeff's case but when I hear "spider bite" and yet see photo after photo of him with beer in hand (let alone the lifestyle)...It's hard not to think of my dear friend who I truly believe would still be here if he had a better handle on the booze.

Something tells me Jeff's case is similar.

  • Slayer seemed to be invincible, like they could and would go on forever. I watched a interview with him on YouTube from sometime in the last couple of years where he guessed they had 5-7 more years maybe since they are getting older and he says we're all going to die anyway and laughs.

I have to wonder if they are done now without him.

I can't begin to tell you how creepy that is to me.

That was precisely what my friend used to say. We would suggest that he might consider slowing his drinking...His response?

  • This should be good, the WBC pickets so people mess with them and they sue but a bunch of metal heads are going to be really pissed off and aggressive and not give a crap if they try to sue them nor will they be loaded with money (I am a broke metal fan so don't think I'm dogging on anyone). I'm not a wishing injuries kinda person but i would be happy if the WBC got their asses handed to them if they cause problems at his funeral.
