What are the best comic book/super hero movies?

Recently, I loved Kick Ass, Scott Pilgrim, Avengers/Iron Man/Thor (Captian America was arrrright). Didn't love Nolan's Batman (Heath Ledger's Joker notwithstanding). Most recent Spiderman >>> Toby's Spiderman. Um um I liked both of the modern Hulk movies in their own way (the ending of the 1st one was the absolute worst though).

Also, is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) the best/most underrated comic book/super hero movie of all time?

So much to talk about. Give it to me.

Love the puppet TMNT, remember loving them as a kid growing up.

I've recently been getting into The Watchmen. Watched it once, didn't care too much for it. Got a couple of the graphic novels and I'm starting to understand why people dig it. Much different from the average comic book story, and a lot of great underlying tones/themes that get the brain churning.

Love anything Frank Miller is involved with, Kickass, and V for Vendetta are a couple others that I can get into whenever they're on.

Just wish they'd make Y the Last Man into a movie, as long as they don't mess it up, haha.

I thought V for Vendetta was awful. Just awful. Pacing was terrible, too many plot holes, story was weak. Just a bad movie.

Scott Pilgrim. I liked how his love interest was cute, but someone aesthetically on par with any ol Snohomish County chick. Zeb was all about Knives Chao, but he's a racist.

I liked the Hulk movies, they’re kind of underrated.

All the Marvel phase one movies trump everything. We’ll see if DC steps up with Superman.

Scott Pilgrim might be a top 10 movie for me. And no, I was more of a Ramona Flowers type of gal.

Word.

I'm not a really big comic book movie kinda guy, but I have enjoyed this most recent Avengers stuff. The Hulk is the best character out of all of them. Really, really well done in this one, and by far my favorite rendition of him.

And totally agree this time around Spiderman is far, far better than the whiny little bitch boy that Toby McGuire played. By the end of any of those movies, you just wanted to strangle him and get it over with.

A shout out for MIB (the first one only) from me.

Haven't followed the comic books since the 60's or so, so I can't say how any of the movies portrayed the originals in any but the Superman series. Chris Reeves did that one well.

300 (from the graphic novel) was pretty good, although a bit over the top in some scenes (I'm pretty sure nobody has ever domesticated a rhino, for one thing :)). But it actually captured the spirit of the Spartan fighting men as well as I've seen, except maybe for the original live action 300 Spartans, which it's derived from.

Forgot to mention Mystery Men as a ridiculous superhero movie. I mostly like that movie because I'm a huge mark for anything Tom Waits...and he's a mad scientist...what could be better?

Not to mention Hank Azaria, Artie Lange, Kel Mitchell, Eddie Izzard, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Bay, Ceelo Green, Dane Cook, Paul Reubens and William H. Macy all managing to find roles in this film. There's probably more people, but these are the only ones I've found thus far. Maybe I'll watch it again and see if I recognize anyone as a stand-in or something.

Scott Pilgram, 100%. That movie is absolutely the best adaptation of a comic book novel series ever presented.

BTW, I'm an Envy kind of guy. Love high-maintenance!

Zeb, you lost all credibility with the part about not liking Nolan's Batman movies. At least, numbers one and two. Damn, dude. :-( That's like saying you support giving cancer to puppies and kittens. Why do you support cancer, Zeb? WHY???

Don't care. It's a dreadful film. I didn't care for Scott pilgrim, but I didn't read the comic. Most of the fans of the comic i've talked to really dug it, so I'll give it a pass.

Sin City was fantastic, and i'm eagerly awaiting the next movie coming out this year.
