  • watch the throne came out. love it. but the Carter IV has been in heavy rotation in my CD player/ipod, replacing it in a week?.

i dont want to say ones better than the other, but theres a few more weezy songs im lovin than jay/kanye.

still think recovery is one of the best rap albums since chronic 2001. but dont mind me, im a part time listener.

    what say you?

I have been listening to more Hell: The Sequel than either Watch the Throne or The Carter IV.

That said, I agree. Recovery is the best rap album since Chronic 2001. Hands down.

  • Being as big a Jay-Z and Kanye fan as I am. The album was kinda weak. I do like otis, new day, Illest M*&(^(&*^*& alive, why i love you, gotta have it, Murder To Excellence, and the joy are really the only songs that i liked.

Some more albums i'd recommend are...

    The Game: The RED Album

^my personal favorite on the album

    Kendrick Lamar: Section .80

^should've been song of the year

It's like a whole different language! :? Maybe I should just curl up with my vinyl 70s rock albums and listen to them skip until I die...

I love it as well, the dude has a certain style that i can't really compare to anyone else. "Ronald Reagan Era" is one of my favorites as well.

I'm also anticipating this J.Cole Album sorta. He's been releases some so-so and whatever stuff lately, but he really came out
swinging when he has signed with Roc Nation.

And for my ignorant side, i really like Meek Mill.

I also need to know, does anyone listen to Jay Electronica?

  • Listened to some music from Jay-z and Kanye, watch the throne that is and didn't like it all. I think Hell:Sequel is much better in terms of lyrics. I was listening to Recovery on the way to work today, love that album. As of Carter IV, I don't listen to Lil wayne, he is just terrible!

  • pshhhh whatchu know bout some nas? hahaha It Was Written is one ofthe greatest hip hop albums ever IMO

    Commons always been dope

Slaughterhouse is cool, i remember i was hyped when they first came out with music

both of those stayed in heavy rotation. Joe Budden & Joell Ortiz were always one of my favorites. Royce was always dope, never really cared much for Crooked I.

Last two you listed arent my type of stuff.

But how about some Bone Thugs-N-Hormony????

  • J.Coles album is probably in the running for the best. Drakes album was wayyyyyyyyyy too feminine for me (Thank Me Later was better IMO but hits mixtapes were some of Drakes best stuff), the singing and girly songs are cool for like 4 tracks, but if you're a rapper (unless you're LL) shouldn't be doing that haha.

Exactly. He's one of the best rappers as far as skills go, diction and cadence are second to none. Subject matter and the music he makes, however, are definitely for a specific audience.

I recorded him once. Super cool dude, very respectful and professional, but you won't catch me really bumping his sh*t too often. Just can't really get into it.

The beat on this song IMO is ridiculous, I love production like this. Love the style, Tragedy Khadafi is very very and severly under rated as an MC, even in the underground, Same goes for Cormega.

More from two of the best from Queens Bridge

Man.. The Roots... Top 5 favorite hip hop group of mine, probably 4th behind Mobb Deep, Outkast, and Goodie Mob.

Did anyone know Black Thought actually ran for a political office? i forgot what he ran for, it was some small time district thing I don't know if he won but I always thought that was cool as hell.

Where does everyone go for new music though? I go to FreeOnSmash and TheSermonsDomain (something is very obvious about the dude/dudes who run that site, they're from Seattle) and Areyouinthatmoodyet.

"scream" was produced by Kuddie Fresh. He used to be part of the CoOP Prouduction team with this cat named Tryfe. Tryfe is definetly one of the coolest dudes i've met in me trying to get my ishbop together doing beats, he really taught me and my partner in crime A LOT, even let us sit in on sessions when the artist was cool with it. • [quote="Throwdown"]yeahh revival time... kinda haha

this is kind of out of the norm for me but this songs kinda dope to me.

I don't listen to much rap anymore, but if you appreciate lyrical skill then you'd like this group. They're pretty much the only thing new I listen to. Even though I am kind of excited to hear Planet Asia's new CD. Slaughterhouse has artists from different parts of the country but it's amazing that they all complement each other nicely on their songs. Check out "Microphone" if you haven't heard it. I'll try to link them but I've never linked before on here so I'm not sure if it'll work. Also try "Sound Off".

  • Never heard of Fliboimoe, does he got any mixtapes or EPs? I like those songs you posted.

I saw Luck One's getting some notoriety, he was OnSmash and i never see NW artists on there unless it was J.Pinder or Macklemore.

  • I was going to post this yesterday but didn't get around to it. Kendrick released "The Recipe" on Monday:

I see providence. I see purpose. I believe it our fate to be here. It is our destiny.
