  • has passed.

One of my favorite rock bands, a great live show (back in the 80s) and some fantastic endurance all things considered. The ideal "arena rock" band. Had all the tapes when i was a kid.

  • That sucks, for those of you that are in my age group this sadly is a tough part of life, almost weekly someone who was part of our youth that helped develop our social palate as in music, films, books etc passes almost weekly now.

RIP Malcolm you Angus and Bon Scott, Brian Johnson, for me gave me hours of joy listening.

  • :(

Their active years were largely before my time, but they have been one of my favorite all-time bands since I was like 12 years old, and I'm 35 now.

  • Tough to see your childhood musical icons dying off. The quintessential 80's arena rock band. We salute you Malcolm.

  • Before this 12 year old got his hands on Back In Black in 1980, he was listening to his brothers old Beatles albums and his sister's old ABBA and Bee Gee's 8-tracks.

Well...............all it took was the first high hat into Malcolm's pure evil rhythm riff on Back in Black, song 6, second side to have me hooked on Metal forever. It was all over after that, I couldn't satiate my AC/DC addiction. I was like a crackhead saving up all my money just to go to Tower Records to get every album in their catalog.

Highway to Hell, High Voltage, Let There Be Rock, TNT, bootlegs, I consumed myself with AC/DC and anything that sounded like AC/DC.

Everyone's always focused on Angus, and rightly so he's an amazing lead guitarist. But IMO Malcolm never got enough credit for not only being an amazing rhythm guitarist, but his song writing and the influence and direction of the band. Anytime AC/DC strayed.............there was Malcolm there reminding his bandmates what it is they are, and what it is they do. Rock, and rock hard.

If you don't believe me, just read what Angus said about Malcolm. ... colm-young

  • RIP..
Just like many,I was a big fan of the band as a teen in the 80's.
It became weird when my daughter became a fan herself as a teen.
It goes to show how strong they are because of Malcom.
