How true is the dry heat thing there? When I was there it was middle of September and over 100. It was dry then and didn't bother me. Felt just like the Tri-Cities, but I was told by the locals that in the summer it's hotter and more humid.

I worked the ramp at Luke Air Force Base in temps above 120, which with running F-16's the ambient temp was over 145 in traditional camo you would come off the ramp and your face would be white as the sweat would dry and leave salt all over your face. Yeah during monsoon season humidity would be a factor for a few hours but it would quickly dry up.

Nasty. Sounds like when I was in the Persian Gulf. Something like 165 w/heat index. I've never sweat so much in my life. You'd literally have a puddle under you after a few minutes.
So at least I know PHX couldn't be that bad.

I don't mind the dry heat. One can drive 1 hour or 2 north for the weekend to cool off if it gets that bad. It is 3 or so months and the fall/winter more than makes up for it.

Dude, Ian, it's different here... I enjoy being in the sun here... weird huh? The heat here in the summer is VERY dry for the most part... that kind of heat when you open up the oven and it blasts you in the face... I like it ;P I was there last weekend Tattooed! I met a whole group of people who just moved here all at the same time... we sat to the right of the bar at some tables in front of a TV. I was wearing a Sherman jersey... if you're there this sunday, come say hi! I highly doubt you'll run into rattlers in this urban sprawl Zeb! come check it out...

Yeah, you would have to go walking on the various trails by the nearby mountains to possibly run into rattlers. You can always run into the brown little scorpions. I never had any in my apartment complex. Keep crickets, their food source, out of your home. I did have a black widow hanging out by a pole near my covered parking space. I took care of that. I don't know if I will make it there this Sunday as I get off of work at 6am and I will be a zombie at home cheering on the guys. That said, if all goes according to plan, I will try my hardest to show up for the NFC championship game.

My name is Sean by the way but most places online I am tattooedsean for slightly obvious reasons. I also have a slightly over 7 month old beard going so I might be like this guy----> minus the cane and it isn't all white. I will have to give a prewarning of which jersey I might be sporting as I have Wilson(home), Sherman(away), Browner(grey), and a Largent home jersey.

I didn't follow the link to the Seahawk bar you were talking about, was it the Skeptical Chymist? That place is amazing. If you guys are here when the season starts, we should all hit up the SC or go to the Hawks @ Cards game.
As far as work goes, I can put your name out for some contract work but I'd need some additional info through PMs before even trying.
You guys are in for a treat here soon when we hit 115 plus! I've been working outdoors here in Phoenix for almost 9 years, its a whole different monster when we hit those numbers. Other than those days, I love it.

You gotta fly by the seat of your pants on this one. And make sure you document everything that happens in photos/videos to share here.
Good Luck.

the summer heat doesn't bother me as I grew up in the midwest with the much worse 90% like humidity. That said, I work nights so I don't have to be outside every day of the week during the afternoon.
Good to see others here in the central valley. I have been in Chandler since late 1995.
