  • Anybody see it yet? I just did, and I really enjoyed it. Solid 8/10 for me. Sci-fi with horror elements is about as well as I can describe it - and I don't want to give any spoilers, but I really liked the ending. :)

  • Geez Roland, I have a dear old friend of mine who admitted to me years ago that she literally reads the last page of every book she buys first before reading the book. I thought she was the only neurotic weirdo I knew...

    ...Until now. :P

  • LOL, Todd - what did I do to earn that kind of a comparison?! I NEVER read the ending of a book, or watch the ending of a film, before reading or watching from the beginning! All I said was I happened to particularly like the ending in this film. The ending is not what makes the film whatsoever for Annihilation.

Honestly this makes me more stoked to see it. The more trippy and weird it is, the more I imagine I'll like it. That is, as long as the story still makes sense.

Wonder was good. My favorite of the movies I’ve seen recently was I, Tonya. I thought that was great.

  • Went to this on Saturday and loved it. Only complaint I can think of is the dialogue was a little rough around the edges, specifically at the beginning of the movie. Felt like once it hit its stride the dialogue was fine, though.

Absolutely loved the sense of dread and tension that builds throughout the movie. As Roland said it's like a Sci-fi horror, which included one of the most tense scenes I think I've ever seen in a theater. The final 15 minutes were stunning as well.

This is one of those movies, like Blade Runner 2049, where I wish people would show up and support such a great film. It's movies like these that push the envelope of what cinema can and should be.
