I wanted to get the thoughts of some of the other soccer fans here on this rumored change. Personally, I like it.

The New York Daily News is reporting that MLS intends to make the switch in time for the 2014 season with a league calendar that begins in late July or early August, takes a winter break during December and January, and then concludes with MLS Cup the following May or early June.

I think that's the only way, doing something like that would work. We seen leagues like Russia and Germany have winter breaks, and having a winter break will be the only way this could pay off, namely cause the break would coincide with the finish of the NFL regular season and the majority of the playoffs.

As long as we are playing soccer I don't really care when.

Don't be near sighted... This vastly improves the league

I think that sounds fantastic. Leaves time around the NFL playoffs and bowl schedules. Though, I do like having a sport that takes up the time between March Madness and the NFL start.
