Less than a week remaining till Liverpool and Stoke City kick off the 2013-2014 Premier League season. Time for Predictions, I say we should do it like this:

Top 4(and those who have a chance to contend for those spots)
Bottom 3

FA Cup
Capital One Cup

Top Scorer
Player of the Year

Biggest Improvement
Biggest Dropoff
First Manager To Get Sacked

and anything else you feel like adding.

I'm going to reserve the right to amend this after the transfer window closes, but as things stand today:

Top 4 - 1) Chelsea, 2) Spurs, 3) City, 4) United, + 5) Liverpool, 6) Arsenal
Bottom 3 - the 3 that came up (lame, I know, but I know nothing about any of them. Of last season's survivors I'd pick Hughes to help take Stoke to go down.

Top Scorer - Bale, followed by Lukaku
Player of the Year - Bale

Biggest Improvement - Villa
Biggest Dropoff - Stoke
First Manager To Get Sacked - Pardew

Yeah it's especially hard to predict top scorer/player of the year without the rosters being set.

It doesn't look like Bale will be playing in the PL this year, so I didn't take him into consideration for the awards/having an impact on Spurs.

1st Chelsea
2nd City
3rd Man Utd
4th Arsenal
top scorer: Lukaku

Relegated: Hull
Newcastle (please please please)
Stoke
Biggest improvement: Southampton

Biggest drop off: Everton

First sacking: Pardew

Also: How strong was that Liverpool team against Celtics 'reserve team'? I know they didn't have Suarez or Agger who else was missing?

Why do people think United will drop off so much? I don't see it. They may drop off somewhat, with the new manager, but 3rd/4th or even out of the top 4? Seems laughable to me.

IMO, they will be real contenders for the title. 1st or 2nd.

Because Moyes is not Ferguson and there will be a period of adjustment. Will the players respect the new manager? It's not easy replacing arguably one of the worlds best ever managers. Many thought Ferguson got the best out of a Utd side that needs money spent on it. Giggs, Scholes need replaced, Rooney looks unsettled. Ferdinand looks past it, Vidic injury prone.

Mourinho and Pellegrini are good managers who have signed some good players so are expected to win.

I said third. If third is good enough for the fans (who have been spoiled with success the last 20 years) then I think he will do better next year with new signings and his own players, however Arsenal have a nack of getting in the top 3/4 no matter the players they sign.

3-6 can change as I see them being the most active in the window (buy or sell) from here out.

Just missed the back of the net. Played quite well outside downings gaffe that led to conceding. No end product. Such is soccer somedays

Southampton?... Interesting

They've had a good window after a strong season. I see them top 8.

I'm a casual EPL fan and the team I followed the last couple seasons (QPR) were unceremoniously relegated. So your assignment is to sell me on a team to follow this season. Go.

I fancy So'ton for the drop too, Simon. Just not buying what they're selling.

Liverpool top 4 now that Shelve Carroll Spearing and Downing are gone?

We need a big CB and someone like Erickson, since it seems we're set to miss out on Costa

Willian to Liverpool getting legs
