we are realists :D Portland will never have a baseball team, however Hillsboro just built or renovated (not sure which) a stadium for a team the Hillsboro Hops. Portland is set for the NHL as we have a kick ass arena already in place. No NFL and no MLB any time soon.

I would love for Portland to get a MLB team. Wont happen for 2 reasons, no MLB stadium and the Mariners wont ever allow it as they view Portland as "their territory"!

It would cause horrible traffic jams down in the SODO area. We all would rue the day.

Not gonna happen.

Portlanders are cool with strip clubs and porn stores on every corner, but they think is horrible to have a Indian casino within city limits. If Ptown would allow a casino, the tribe who wants to build it would also pay to have a MLB stadium built, but the liberals won't budge.

When the Portland Beavers were here, they had trouble getting 8000 people to a game. I don't know who thinks it'd be a good idea to bring an MLB team here to fail.

I remember when I was like 11-12, I went to a Rainiers game vs. the Beavers. I guess one of the Portland players bats had broken, and we were sitting behind home plate, one of the players handed me the bat, still had the pine tar on it and everything, I got it somewhere around here.

I think the MLB would be fine in Portland...

I'd like to see the MLB go to Charlotte or maybe San Antonio first.

Not that it would ever happen but IF it did I would hope Portland would be a national league team, because sadly I am first and foremost a Mariner fan....till the end of days :D
