F1 in Montreal - Marshal killed

  • Anyone else hear about this?

A marshal at the GP in Montreal was killed following an accident with a recovery crane, some two hours or so after the race had ended. Whilst he was trying to retrieve a radio that he had presumably dropped, he stumbled and fell, and was subsequently run over by the crane - the driver was unaware of what was happening to the marshal. He suffered massive internal injuries and serious trauma, and died later in hospital.

Absolutely tragic incident in rather innocuous circumstances :(

  • Why would anyone want to hear about this? Very sorry for him and his family. Not sure what good it does advertising someone else's misery.

  • Could we at least talk about the race?

  • One of the most dangerous jobs in sports are the track Marshells of car races. And then to have it happen that way truly sucks.
