Can I just win our contest for calling this one? The birth of my daughter involved blood and poop, so this is proudest day of my life.

I have a general question about the end of games. You know when one team is down by a few buckets in the last couple minutes, they continue to foul the other team when they get the ball? And then when the team losing gets ball they shoot 3s to try to reduce the lead? Why doesnt the team thats ahead also foul the other team so they cant shoot 3s? In theory the game would just go back and forth with foul shots with the team down a large majority unable to really come back in such a short amount of time.

If there is only a few seconds left some coaches do employ that strategy.

I did too, tough guy. Did you have balls enough to pick Florida Gulf Coast over Jseahawks Hoyas though?

I love and dread that pick. But, I did it.

Nice call. Not JSeahawks hoyas though. I'm all about the 'Canes.

Now that they lost, of course they're not your Hoyas.

FGCU beat your stupid Canes.

Western Kentucky and Kansas looks like it could be an interesting 2nd half.

Western Kentucky had every chance to win that game and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I am looking forward to watchng FGCU and La Salle play. Both are exciting to watch

Because a 3 point shot is low percentage, and by fouling, you also stop the clock for the opposing team. You're trying to drive down the seconds, not allow the other team to score without losing those precious seconds.

Outstanding guards for Michigan. Interesting to see if VCU can rattle them at some point.

Nah. Went to Western Oregon University for a few years then transferred and graduated from Warner Pacific College which is a tiny little Christian college in Portland. Life long Ducks fan though.

Yeah, WTF Jsea? I loathe the Ducks and said flat out they win a few games. Follow your heart, listen to me next time, sweetums.

And stay away from Ponies.

The worst part is that after this game, if the Ducks hang on, you'll be in 1st place in our bracket challenge. I'll be in 2nd. Your faith in the Ducks will be the difference.

Just need to keep it close. Haven't hit anything from within 5 feet, and can't see Wichita State continuing to shoot 60% from 3 in the 2nd half.

Great win by Oregon. I have been on the losing end of every close game so far. Gonzaga, Davidson, Butler, Saint Mary's, Wisconsin - none of them are getting it done when it counts for my bracket. *Sigh*

He's good, no doubt. Completely dominated and willed his team to win in their first game, and looks good again today. Just something about him...

Really looking forward to this Florida Gulf Coast, San Diego State game.

I dont recall seeing a team run so many designed ally-oops. F GC is so damn fun to watch...their coach just lets them play.

They remind me of the Sherman Douglas, Derrick Coleman, STeven Thompson Syracuse teams of the late 80's. They were always ooping it up, and were the first college basketball team I ever paid attention to.
