Hope he remains healthy. Jack Z would probably catch grief for it if he doesn't. 25M/year. Nice payday for the young man.

AWESOME! The fans love him and he seems to love the fans (and the Seahawks). I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hope the Mariners can start competing soon and make this guy's effort worth it.

Yep, great move. Looks like the Yankees and Red Sox "wet dreams" of King Felix pitching in his prime in their uniform just dried up! :)

Over $750,000 a start. Are they going to be able to pay for any other players on the field?

Not saying he isn't worth it, just curious if this team can support it for 7 years.

Team was willing to really open up the wallet to pay big bucks for one of the best young starting pitchers in the league. It shows a financial commitment from the M's to Felix, and hopefully they will up the payroll to support his deal. All we can do is hope, but I think this is the right move.

I'm sure Felix would rather be winning games than getting paid. He's the kind of guy that puts everything he has into his games for the fans, and not getting wins bums him out. Money isn't everything.


I feel bad for the guy, he's stuck in baseball hell.
