Yup, he just spent another 15 mil to obtain that 7% ownership in bankruptcy court.

lol @ KJ, boy he's a clown

He's saying now (that its late) those 20 local guys who pledged $1 million each are gonna bid for that 7% as if the deal didn't just get closed.

Sac, get your boy, he's drunk out here.

Mr. Hansen took a lesson from Horace Grant.

Chris Hansen has purchased the 7% ownership stake of the kings that was on auction in bankruptcy. Once approved this would make him a minority owner and give HIM right of first refusal on any deal.

Are you serious? HELL YEAH! I know the Hanson group was planning on eventually aquiring %100 of the team anyway, but this rocks some serious balls.

Well know KJ is saying that he knew this was gonna happen and now has 15 days to match the offer by Hansen and Co.? I don't get this at all.

Except he can't. The only people who can match, are the current minority owners.

"Not to change the subject, but did anyone hear the Sac reporter on 1090 a little bit ago? I only caught part of it, but he hinted that there are more than eight owners planning on voting against Hansen. He said he didn’t want to discuss it on the record, but has been told by some insiders from other teams in the league that they have the necessary votes to block a sale to Hansen/Balmer. Ugh."

Just found this on Sonics Rising........man this better not be true.

EDIT: Here is the link to the podcasts that I think this poster was referring too: http://seattle.cbslocal.com/2013/03/27/ ... arch-27th/

Well if it is true (which I don't believe for a second. No owner would be stupid enough to speak when a gag order is in place) then they are just opening themselves up for a lawsuit and future problems, like other owners turning down their sale and potential move. Good thing its not true.

Based on what? I'd love to see examples of this reporter breaking NBA stories that more distinguished national writers whiffed on. I find it peculiar that NBA owners under a gag order enforced by heavy fines are leaking their perspectives to some guy from the Sacto 11 o'clock news. The Sacramento media has puppeted the KJ and ownership talking points all along, including the "gateway to India" nonsense, which Monacelli referenced verbatim in the same interview. They're staying on message, that's all.

Listening to the Sandmeyer interview, it seems that no matter what the 7% stake will belong Sacramento as when they put in their matching bid that theirs would supersede Hansen and Ballmer's bid. And the reporter who stated that he had inside info on votes seemed very confident when he brought up that point. I no longer feel confident about this..............stupid NBA.

The fact that Hansen's group can stay so silent is music to my ears.

Let Sacramento keep up the good work. Its great to see them fight for their team. Every city should be so lucky to have a mayor that looks out for all of a city's interests.

Owners do not want to be told what they can do with their franchises... Even if that means moving to less desirable cities. They will not vote against each so they can continue to leverage the best possible deals. If the NBA only did what was right for the cities no team would ever move.

Many of us thought the league would never turn its back on 41 years of history and a large market like Seattle for another city. The BOG proved that they care about their fellow owners.

Only standing minority owners can submit a bid to match. The only one who is saying he's going to do that is Bob Cook, the bankrupt guy whose share was just sold. Where is this money coming from? Why isn't it being used to pay the massive debt to his creditors? Why are so many broke entities finding magical amounts of mystery money to try to throw off Chris Hanen's business dealings?

Portland Trail Blazers 33-37

Because they're so good at winning, right?

You can't make me! On a more srious note, I mean I feel the way I do because of the gag order on the Hansen/Ballmer group so everyday I keep hearing about how quickly things are coming together for sac-Town in a short period of time. If there was some Seattle news every now and then on this subject maybe my hopes would be a little higher than they are right now.

Things happening so fast in Sactown is great for Seattle! Down there they are throwing tons of crap against the wall and are hoping it sticks, a lot of the flaws
In their plan will be exposed soon.

Like I've said all along, kings to Seattle, Sacramento gets an expansion team.

Also I was listening to a Bill Simmons interview/podcast last week where he, and he is a Sonic supporter, believes that Sacramento is now in the driver seat and he said this before the arena agreement was made. Man.......I gotta stop worrying about this, but I can't help it. I just want my dang Sonics back. I don't know how you guys can stay so calm.....I'm goin nuts!

Per Ric Bucher:

Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson has gathered a strong contingent to bid for keeping the Kings where they are, but their level of commitment won’t be certified until they make the same non-refundable payment of $30 million to the Maloofs that the group from Seattle already has made, a source said. Should the league’s owners reject the Seattle group in favor of the Sacramento group without meeting that term, the source said, the Maloofs are almost certain to file an anti-trust suit against the league. The Sacramento group also has to deal with several different entities owning parcels of the land upon which the proposed arena would be built. Working through how much the land is worth and a sale price for each parcel is not a quick process; nor is the required cash-out by Warriors part-owner Vivek Ranadive to join the Kings’ group. I also have to wonder, considering the potential benefit for the Warriors in having all of Northern California to themselves, how motivated they’ll be to expedite the process if doing so enhances the chance of the Kings staying. For what it’s worth, the league office is playing this “straight down the middle,” according to one source, showing no preference toward either side.

RIP Kevin. Those guys played in the days when, imo, the nba was great. Maybe it was because I was just a kid then, but it seemed like the teams cared more back then. Loved watching the Sonic vs blazer games in the late 80s to mid 90s.

KJ was on the Dan Patrick Show today and had this to say about Seattle:

@JasonPuckettKJR: Kevin Johnson on Dan Patrick: “They weren’t getting the support (fans) they needed and they couldn’t build a building.” #Sonics #Kings

He also was asked to put a percentage to their chances of keeping the team and he said Steve Nash at the free throw line. Was he second on the hack list behind Shaq?

Nash is the NBA all-time leader in career FT percentage at 90.4% for his career...................so yeah KJ believes he has a great shot of keeping the Kings. And the hits keep coming.

GODDDDDDDDDD! If I ever see Johnson in public, Imma bowe him in the face, screw him for life.

And in light of news of stuff that Hansen might've uncovered, I hope Hansen exposes Johnson for the liar he is and disgraces him in his own city. Go to hell Johnson, you corny son of a hippo!

(I will no longer reference him as KJ, its an insult to Mr. KJ Wright to share his name as this clown shoes mutha(*&(&( for his nickname)

Seattle has said we weren't going to use fan support as a tool, but if KJ's out here launching this ground attack, should we talk about the last few years? and no the excuse of the Maloofs isn't good enough to explain it either. Especially if our excuse for Bennett in the final season here doesn't hold water to Clown Shoes Johnson.

Dude just made this fight personal 5 days before the committee meetings on this issue.

He didn't mean it, Throw. No need to get riled up.
