He's at a Microsoft event. IE his job.

I don't have a whole lot of hope that this is going to go our way even if Ballmer was there. But the pessimist in me has been apparent the last couple of days in just about everything, so who knows.

You should be concerned if Ballmer IS there.

Sonics fans show up! After Stern waived to Kings fans and entered the room 20 minutes ago :X, wake up earlier boys.

More expansion speculation!

It's nice to see Rex Grossman show up in his Sonics gear. :D

David stern and George Maloof have been chatting for quite a few minutes in a sitting area off the lobby. That's your mid morning update

I hoping George Maloof was telling Stern he is going to sue the bejesus out of him and the NBA if the team isn't sold to HBN and allow them to move to Seattle.

Didn't want him to go nuclear.

He is standing by at a press conference ready to announce Microsoft is pulling all their sponsorship of the NBA if the deal doesn't go through.

I think in order for this last-minute expansion rumor to be true, the NBA would have to guarantee in writing that it was going to occur, for two reasons: 1) we can't trust them after their "promises" made in 2008, and 2) only a written guarantee would allow the SEA group to begin construction on an arena. A vague promise or wink-wink deal would mean that they wouldn't be able to begin the construction process until became official.

Exactly. I highly doubt our guys would take any sort of wink-wink for an answer. It's give it in writing, or watch us fight for the Kings.

Nice to see you back Seatown! Keep fighting the good fight! :)

I know Mr. Allen is a very busy man, but I wish he would have showed up in person to lend some support to Seattle instead of sending someone in his place.

Any idea how long we will have to wait? Its almost 5 Eastern. I doubt we will get the vote we want but it will be very interesting to see how many voters Hansen has swayed.

I have that same feeling in my gut that I used to get playing football before kickoff... Not because I think it won't go our way, I remain confident, but because my nerves are going a little crazy right now.

I just don't see how we come away with nothing. Has there been an ownership group this prepared, qualified and ready to build an arena in any sport that's been denied and walked away with nothing?

Probably. Nobody would remember the failed attempts, really.

I can see this happening, NBA keeps team in Sacramento, pays Maloofs the difference in price out of their coffers to eliminate any litigation of Anti Trust, awards Seattle Expansion team in 2015 season.

Everyone is reading too much into that. His attitude has nothing to do with it. If the NBA feels it will make all the owners wealthy they will expand. The only problem with expansion is that there are other teams that are on the bubble as far as being money-makers already, just not on the brink of being relocated as the kings were. There's a saturation of low-earners.

I just made the depressing realization that the Sonics have been good more recently than the Mariners have. Despite not existing for the last five years.

Life as a Seattle fan is rough.
