If there was a viable NBA ready arena in Seattle, I don't believe Stern would be as much of a stickler. He doesn't like the Key. Even if it's temporary, he doesn't feel it's a NBA level arena. That's it one thing that Sacramento has over Seattle. They have a NBA arena to play in while a new arena is committed to and built.

They actually don't, their arena is like the ShoWare Center.

  • well this is interesting...the Chris Hansen Should Raise The 12th Man Flag FB page just posted this screenshot
still trying to find the article it came from but i like the quote from one of KJs top aides "Right now the mood is good riddance"
Edit: Just to be clear this is an OLD article from the last time they tried to move the kings but it is hilarious that KJs camp would speak of their beloved team like this

  • What's your age salamander? Mental and Physical?

Your behavior resembles someone who is between getting their learners permit and being able to legally drink alcohol.

Now I think you are just trolling, which makes me want to second the motion to move this to the smack shack.

However, there is a lot of good information and discussion on here that might get buried once this thread got smackified.

There is an obvious double standard here. First, if that was a 49ers logo being pissed on you'd have no problem with it . Second, apparently the Avatar of Hansen dropping a nuke is fair game but Stern pissing out the flame is out of bounds. Both are simply visual commentary on the situation. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think there's a difference between representing a minority opinion and trolling.

  • I'm just annoyed that Calvin and Hobbes have been sullied twice in this avatar. Once in that knockoff "pissing" drawing that Bill Watterson hates. Then again because you placed the lying mug of David Stern and the underaged-girl-molesting mug of Kevin Johnson on the faces of the awesome Calvin and Hobbes.

  • Salamander, your presence, to gloat and add nothing to this thread, vociferously deny all arguments that don't comply with your narrative, and taunt Sonics fans with a avatar that soils the greatness of Calvin and Hobbes to such a degree it borders on heresy might be trolling.

That fact that you found it fit to come here, and repeatedly come here, to stick your head in the sand and pound your company line is kind of trolling. Its like you came in here to convince us that the right, ethical, legal thing is happening in this situation. You aren't going to win this battle, because its not. It smacks of trolling to me, not blatant, not rampant, just consistent, jabbing, trolling. But, that's just me.

  • Awesome, seems to me that instead of the Seattle group backing out like stern and sac wants it's possible the opposite could happen and sac might be forced out due to it getting too expensive.

Talk about going for the jugular!

Plus that news posted By ExperienceJones about sac not putting the money in escrow yet.

This isn't over but it's far from the slam dunk Sacramento thought it was. What a roller coaster!

A spokesman for the Maloofs, Eric Rose, said the family would have no comment on the deal. But a source close to the Hansen bid said Hansen and the Maloofs have discussed the increased offer, and that the Maloofs have accepted it.

  • In a statement issued on his Sonics Arena website, Hansen described the move to raise his bid as “an effort to further demonstrate the extent of our commitment to bring basketball back to Seattle.”

He's more than made it clear that he's playing by the rules that the NBA provided and he's basically daring them to make Stern a liar. Stern himself said that they don't tell owners who to sell to.
