The stadium deal has until October to go forward and the support for that seems not so much down here.

This is "keep 'em on the hook" talk after L.A. officials stated that they were getting tired of being pawns for stadium deals in other cities.
However, the Chargers, Raiders, and Rams all have legitimate stadium issues and OAK is broke as hell specifically, so they actually might have a chance of getting a team back.

Kansas City doesn't have anyone actively pursuing anything, the arena brings in a lot of revenue without a main tenant. Vegas needs to stop, pro sports will never be in Vegas.

KC isn't pursuing anything now, but the arena being built was originally an attempt at getting basketball, hockey, or both.
I don't see the good of building an arena short of a guarantee from a league that can be codified in a contract. Otherwise, you well may just waste money on an arena or stadium for no reason, and honestly, there are more important things to spend stadium money on even when you DO have a team for some especially broke areas.
To tie this to Seattle though it's off-topic, it would make a bit more sense to build the SoDo arena because the NHL clearly wants to stick a team here, and it would be a good way to get an arena built now and have it for later if you hope to entice the NBA back here. However, I would still want the builders to get a promise of a team from the NHL first (and this is all moot because Hansen isn't going to build for NHL first - precisely for the reason that there is no promise that even if he does build, the NBA will be back).
In terms of L.A., I don't see why you would build a stadium in City of Industry or wherever unless you knew for sure that you had a team coming.

I lived in the OC/LA area for 30 years. Unless things have drastically changed, LA is not that good of an NFL venue. Of course, the last two owners weren't the best, and didn't do a lot to keep the team there, but still, there's not a lot of public support for stadium investment with public funds. For one thing, there is just too much competition from other forms of entertainment in the area. Sure, TV is the big ticket, but you still have to put butts in the seats. Unless some private investors pony up some big bucks and some guarantees--ala PA and the Seahawks--it ain't gonna happen IMHO.

When Carroll Rosembloom was alive the Rams had good attendence and following, it was after the bitch killed him that things went south. Everyone knew she wanted to get out of LA. Raiders having Al Davis there was never going to work, everyone knew they were rentals, Al was consistently working the Oakland situation.
Now politicians are involved like here and nothing gets done fast or effciantly, everyone worried about elections and votes and caters to the popular situation at the time, yes means no and no means yes and the answer is only good till the next press conference or interview. They have like 3 major investment groups that won't work together much like we have or had like 3 or 4 here with the Sonics.
LA will continue like us to be a leverage tool, once the Enviromental assessment is done we need to start digging, waiting will only create a situation where a group will want everything done again since time has passed. LA needs to get to that point with a group as well, the college stadiums as in the Coliseium could take up residency if needed till a pro team was approved, everyone has stated the Coliseium is really bad to watch games in since you are so far away from the feild, that may force LA political people to move in a direction.
