They are 9-1 when the opponent goes over 300 passing, 5-1 when the opponent goes over 390. That's crazy.
That's in the Jim harbaugh era

Might be because the 9ers get up on teams early and their opponent needs to throw the ball the rest of the game..

Teams get junk passing yards by the bucketfull against the niners. Like the other guy said, Niners go up early often against teams. They then always go to an almost prevent pass defense and allow the opposing team to rack up yards on underneath routes. They are willing to give up these yards to help prevent the quick score and run the clock out for the win. I personally would rather see the D keep pressure on the opposing team but a win is a win.

It's true. Of course, the statisticians have to go back to 1949 for that record. This current iteration of the 49ers (under Harbaugh) is 1-0 on the road.

Conversely, we are 2-9 all time on the road in the postseason, and 1-2 under Carroll. So not too far off, actually.

The more important stat for us is that we're 7-2 all time at home in the postseason.

I don't expect either team to throw for 300 yards in the Ice Bowl II.

Too lazy to look up the second home playoff loss. I remember the Dolphin loss relatively recently. Was the second one the Broncos in the W/C?

That happens when teams abandon the run. It's not necessarily because we get a lead. Usually it's the one dimensional teams that give up on the running game when that happens, and while they move the ball through the air, the punt a lot and turn it over a lot, and give us good field position. The way to beat our defense is with a balanced attack. Everyone here knows this by now.

Yep, rings. We've seen it plenty ourselves last year and this.

God, it's great to have an elite defense, isn't it? 8)

I understand the reasons whu it might be, but 9-1, especially 5-1 when they go for 390 is beyond something u can explain away.
U guys have Rodgers' number
