Why does Peyton Manning get an afternoon game?

But the team who has 2 travel games in a row doesn't? It would be interesting to know how they make that decision because without Denver, there is only 1 afternoon game and that's OAK vs AZ which nobody wants to watch.

Because he is Manning. Plus playing in Dallas. It is a ratings win and deserves its own late slot time. Since Denver and Dallas are not that far away, why not play a 4:00 p.m EDT game? I hear what you are saying, but look at how the schedule makers justify not having East coast teams playing at 4:00 p.m.

You do realize that it is a game at 3 in their time zone officially.

Yeah, since Denver is in the Mountain zone. Dallas is Central though my map doesn't have the lines of demarcation, so not sure about their timezone.

All things relate to the East coast start times though, right? Just like 10:00 a.m. games start at noon in the midwest, but it is considered a 1:00 p.m. EDT start.
