  • What? You mean trade for any player in the league? That would cost more than a 1st rounder, but I'd probably say J.J. Watt off the top of my head.

  • Joe Thomas/Matt Khalil if Okung or one of them can make a transition to RT.

If not, Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant or JJ Watt.

I read the premise as a wishlist hence my suggestion of Melton even though we're fine at the position.

I'd take a truly great LT that can protect our QB every game. One that is mobile enough to work the scramble drills too. Move Okung to right where he won't put Russell's blind side in jeopardy when he takes his injury vacations.

  • The post about getting an LT that can protect our QB every game just made me a bit sad for the days of Walt and Hutch. God damn our line was beastly in the early 2000s.

OKung is very good, but those days were freaking special.

At any rate, I would take Calvin Johnson/AJ Green, JJ Watt, or Brian Cushing. Or some OT whose name I can't think of because honestly who knows the OL of other teams?

Trying to think of dominant players at positions where we don't already have stars. For me that's basically LB, DL, and WR.

  • Yeah I don't think there's an super elite guard right now. Evan Mathis is who I think most would consider the best in the league, and he's very good, but not exactly anything stunning when considering I could have any player in the league. Not really any top RT either, so if Okung can transition to RT or Matt Khalil/Joe Thomas could do it, I would definitely take one of them.

Our DL is already so stacked and literally everyone including the back ups are beasting. I don't even want to fathom having another star DL even if it is Watt,Atkins,Suh,etc. It hurts my head to think of how unfair that is and how we could possibly split the playing time since everyone is that good.

  • Hate the team with a passion, but I'd take Mike Iupati right now without blinking.

Or we can be downright cruel and take a J.J. Watt or Patrick Peterson and just allow no opponent to do anything too.

Other obvious picks would be Jimmy Graham or Calvin Johnson.

I would do it too, but the Bucs wouldn't take that trade. I think SD wanted something a long the lines of two 2nd's or a 2nd & 3rd when they were trying to trade him to us? Since he left to Tampa, his value hasn't exactly dropped because his production has been very good, but he's also 30 now. Realistically, I think it would cost about a late 1st along with a late round pick(6th round?) or a 2nd and 3rd to get him and I doubt TB would take the latter offer.
