They were at wits end with OT's after dumping off Jason Smith and Wayne Hunter, they needed someone better on the left side.
Hopefully the Cardinals don't get wise and pick up a freaking LT, Arians has always had crappy pass protectors for O-linemen though. Might have to change that philosophy after a year in the NFC west though.

PFT update says that there has been NO deal made for Long yet. Quote: Case in point: A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that there is no deal between the Rams and tackle Jake Long.
