The 49ers made it one step farther in the playoffs than the year before, but lost two more games (yes, I count a tie as a loss; even though it kept you ahead of us in the division) in the regular season. I'm not sure I'd call that progress, despite reaching the Super Bowl. Green Bay was a joke of an opponent in their game against you, they looked flat-out bad; and the Falcons weren't great, either. It's highly unlikely you'll have as easy of a trip to the Super Bowl this year.

haha when did I say that? I am just glad that RW is our QB just like you are probably glad that Kaep is your team's QB.

Reaching the Superbowl isn't progress?

You do realize that the opposing team is usually the cause of a team looking like "a joke of an opponent" right?

So since the Seahawks couldn't beat the Falcons, and by your own opinion they "weren't that great", what is your opinion of your team since you couldn't beat them but we did?

our defense failed in critical times, like they been doing all season. kind of like your defense failed in critical times during the season and superbowl..

i think we both know, Seattle was the better team.. i think we both know SF was the better team..

i posted this before, but i'll do it again for your benefit.. you can go to the CLink or Candlestick and look up at all the NFCW or NFCC banners, but without a superbowl victory to back them up, they mean pretty much nothing... i look at them as a failed season.. there's only one team standing at the end of the day, if it's not your team, your season was a failure...

Not all roads to the Super Bowl are equal. There's a reason the 49ers and San Francisco media wanted the Seahawks to lose, because you knew an away game at Atlanta was easier than a home game against us. How we played them isn't really relevant, they didn't look like world-beaters against us, either. As I've stated many times, our first-half play calling was the bane of our existence a number of times this past year, and I pray it improves next year. That's a fault of our team, not a strength of the opponent.

Whether you're really an improving team will be decided this coming season.

Agreed. And yes the banners and everything are bitter sweet if there isn't a world champions one next to it with the same year printed on it.

Most of us on 49ers.com wanted to face the Falcons in Atlanta because we yes knew it would be easier because your chippy defense would have no doubt banged up the Falcons enough to make our matchup with them easier, and we didn't want to face your chippy defense ourselves and possibly lose players to injury before the big game.

Everything from NinerLifer is bullshit... he/she comes here to state crap like "he's a passionate coach that doesn't like to see the team get cheated" or other subtle, yet annoying bs.

49er fans were nervous to face Seattle because of the recent beat down. Combine that with the possibility of losing to a division rival in the NFC Chamionship game, well that would make any fan nervous.

His excuse is definitely bs, and extremely dumb.

It's definitely not BS, and makes a lot of sense if you would allow yourself to see it. Why would you want to face a hard hitting defense right before the Superbowl if you don't have to? Couple that with the fact that it would have been an emotional victory, which isn't something anybody wants before going into the biggest game of the year.

But contrary to what us fans wanted, the players wanted to face the Seahawks as was written in a few interviews before your game was played.

I don't think you guys would have had to worry about being banged up going into the Superbowl had you faced the Seahawks.

So none of your preference towards the Falcons is related to us having a bigger chance at beating you than the Falcons? Ok, then. Good luck building credibility around here.

Of course it did. I've said it multiple times on your MB, your team is very talented. You guys had a better chance to beat us than the Falcons. The only offset is that the Falcons had home field advantage, while you wouldn't have had it. Also another reason why some wanted to play you guys instead was because of your tough time winning on the road all season long. Your wild card win only fueled that speculation as your team didn't appear to be coming out of Washington with a victory until RG3 went down.

It's easy at this point anyway to believe that both of us will be in the postseason again next year, the only fight along the way will be for the division title unless the rest of the NFC gets their act together.

Still don't know what you're talking about. Is it ever possible to just talk football with you guys?

I guessed I missed it somewhere that the Seahawks aren't a football team then.

Whenever I try to talk about our two teams or the rest of our division somebody like you jumps in and takes it in another direction.

Pretty sure that some on here will see what they want to see in posts from Niner fans. Perhaps that's a Paradigm shift that needs to happen like was mentioned in another thread.

Talking football has more to do than talking Niners or Seahawks. And just look at your post history. You're like the resident Niner hall-monitor. "Oh no, they're talking bad about my Niners, I have to defend their honor!" That's all I've seen you do. You don't bring anything of substance. NONE at all.

The DB's are one of the priorities of the Team to have fixed before week 1 next year. As well as finding Justin Smith's predecessor to replace him when he retires and also to add depth to our other key defensive positions as it was evidenced by all that our starters lost steam late in the season. It's scary to think that the Niners will be even better next year than they were this year.

Good. It will just add to your dissappointment As Wilson and the Seahawks in general will be a better team than the one that handed you your asses in Seattle.

Except I come here to talk about our two teams and the rest of the division occasionally. When I want to talk about the rest of the league, I do so on 49ers.com.

Did you watch the game?

Aside from two drives, it was a completely one-sided affair. And when our offense pulled its finger out of its arse, we comfortably won. The whole RGIII thing was a red herring. He was the hurt the week before too and made light work of Dallas.

If I was CK I would be partying too, especially then. I think CK is a very good QB and the Whiners are a great team, but I also think he kind of sounds like a punk-weasel. He doesn't appear to be a bad guy though, YET.

If I could choose between the two to QB the Hawks I would pick Wilson every time, but I wouldn't be complaining if CK was the Seahawks QB. Wilson is just so solid upstairs and every bit as gifted as CK.

This kind of thing is not something I would use to insult the Niners, when you have Harbaugh on the sidelines it is easy to take shots at him, or the fans.

I have to say though, I am glad there aren't any pictures of Wilson partying. The younger players tend to take risks with the public at times, Wilson won't be one of those guys.

No kidding, for all the hype about how RG3 could beat the Hawks as a pocket passer they did NOTHING after those first two drives. Once the Hawks made a first down and kept a drive alive, they took care of business. Not to mention the out-of-character fumble by Lynch on the 1 yard line. That game could have been a lot higher scoring.

I get it though, Niner fans try to find any reason they can to discount the Hawks. It makes them feel safer.

LOL, kind of what I see happening on here from Seahawk fans.

Watching the game from an outsiders perspective as somebody who thought the Seahawks would win convincingly over the Redskins, it was quite easy to tell that your team looked a whole lot better after RG3 left the game. Cousins was a non factor at QB and Washington was dead in the water offensively after he came in. After RG3's initial injury during that game is when your team came alive.

NinerLifer, if you want to know why we're not particularly scared of your team, perhaps it's because you made one more play in the NFCCG this year as compared to last year, (one play separating making the Super Bowl versus not having made it) with two fewer regular-season wins to show for it, while everyone in your fan base brags about having a supposedly amazing new elite QB for the team.

Seriously, congratulations on making the Super Bowl; but the fact that your team was only able to get a touchdown against our 3rd-stringers at the end of your blowout loss at our house doesn't exactly have us quaking in our boots for the 2013 season. You'll have to prove that the Seahawks should be scared of playing your team. As it stands, we're not scared of anybody; and if our offensive coordinator gets in the same mindset, we might average beating our opponents by 3 scores every week.

I can understand your optimism. I can't speak for the kiddos on 49ers Webzone, but most of us Niner fans don't take crushing victories as a sign that we will dominate that team the next time we play them. Even though we had our dominating victories over the Jets and Bills last season in back to back weeks doesn't mean that we will blow them out from now on each following season. Some teams go on hot streaks, and some teams just have a bad week. Nothing is to be taken for granted in the NFL.

I think it says something more about those two teams than about the 49ers or the Seahawks, since we beat the piss out of both of them, as well. Namely, that the NFC West has two great teams now, with a possible 3rd if the Rams play their draft picks correctly and Bradford does what he's capable of doing.

Huh? What does that even mean?

So if someone talks about their faith they're a "Bible thumper"?

His TD celebration is kissing a scripture verse on his bicep, he's more of a douche than the typical Bible thumper, that's for sure. If he ever gets a ring, I wonder if he'll kiss his own junk instead? He's already metaphorically doing it, anyways.

Ok, so then a Bible thumper must only be someone that spouts their religion onto others for a minimum of what, 6 hours per day? What's your definition, Hawkfan?

Stop looking for offense, and you won't have to take any.

I have never minded in the least if a player talks his religion (which Colin does). I wouldn't care if an Islamic dude talked his religion either. But if the Islamic dude was photographed munching pork chops, he would be a hypocrite, right? Unless you can show me a passage where the bible promotes having bikini clad skeezers slurp booze out of your lint catcher, I am going to think Kaepernick preaches one thing and does another. I am pretty sure Mr Probiscus wasn't trying to convince those ladies to save themselves for marriage.

They call that a hypocrite where I come from.

As a Christian, I am in full agreement with Scotte's interpretation here.

Did you watch the game?

Aside from two drives, it was a completely one-sided affair. And when our offense pulled its finger out of its arse, we comfortably won. The whole RGIII thing was a red herring. He was the hurt the week before too and made light work of Dallas.

It makes them feel safer
