I think it's worth considering whether or not to get rid of the playoff bye. On one hand, it's a nice reward and gives weight to the regular season. On the other hand, it might be just too generous of a reward. Home field is pretty huge in the NFL, and is incentive enough. Has there ever even been a Super Bowl pitting a pair of non-bye teams?
This would mean adding two more slots per conference, and the schedule could possibly be wonky the first weekend since you'd need to get in eight games. Not sure how that'd work TV-wise, because nobody'd want overlapping games.
"I have a Super Bowl ring, and I would gladly show that to him. And if he doesn’t have time to come see it, tell him he can Google it." -- Doug Baldwin
