Tie breaker goes to better record team in playoffs.

Yeah, games are not settled by the seeding tie breakers. They're settled on the field.

IIRC, San Diego and Cinci went to a 3rd overtime many years ago. And I know there was mutltiple OT game in the playoffs between Miami and Kansas City back in 1973 if memory serves.

In the regular season they only do one period of OT, then leave it at a tie. In the playoffs, you can't have a tie. Somebody has to win, so they play til someone does.

Seriously? So if they're so evenly matched it could go to 5 quarters or more....theoretically forever?

Crazy stuff.

I never understand why they did quarters in OT in the playoffs. Why not just turn off the clock?
