I was listening to it on the Radio and they just retracted it saying the news affiliate pulled the story. My guess is the NFL doesnt want to admit RG3 is out 14-18 months when hes the biggest money maker right now with jerseys and what not.

Or they don't want to release news that isn't absolutely rock solid when a young man's health and career are involved. Latest link I saw (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000 ... ts-tuesday) indicates that old injuries may muck up the current MRI results. While you could read between the lines and infer that the MRI results clearly weren't great if they're re-evaluating, I don't blame them for not wanting to jump the gun on making an announcement.

    For RG3 (and football's) sake, I hope they're wrong. That's awful.

  • My only skepticism is, I have never, ever seen someone walk off the field with a torn ACL. IF it truly is, then RG3 confirmed from using an undetectable HGH

Didn't Clemons walk off the field too? That was reassuring to me during the game, so I was shocked to hear they thought it had torn after the game. Maybe it's only a partial tear.

People walk off the field with ACL injuries all the time. Most memorable to me is probably Tom Brady walking off the field, and down stairs, with ACL and MCL injuries.

  • ACL usually has immediate swelling without pain. the fact that he walked off the field with that brace on isn't a reason to discount this possibility.

14-18 months seems excessive, but if it's true, Shanahan needs to be fired right now. That's seriously one of the most horrible things I can imagine. And you know it's highly unlikely that he's the same dynamic player when he comes back. I really feel bad for him. A truly unique talent in this league and his own lying idiot coach and cheapskate owner have forever dampened his career because of a dreadful field and a poor decision not to take him out of the game.

Yep. I chopped 7 cords of wood and walked 5 miles to school, uphill, in the snow, with a torn acl.

Yep partial acl and pcl tears. The pcl....... thats gonna be a bad one. I think the initial report pulled saying 14-18 weeks could be right. Sucks, I never wish this kind of crap on my worst enemy.

My grandfather did multiple tours in Vietnam in Special Forces on his torn ACL. A badass can run and fight for years on one, but not be an elite athlete. You can even low bar squat with serious weight with no ACL as long as you do it right.

Compared to my grandfather, I'm a pussy and will admit it.

  • My PCL got torn after I got hit by a car on my motorcycle.. I couldn't get into the specialist for over a month because my first doctor told me it was a real slight tear, only needing physical therapy. Well, the first thing out of the specialist's mouth after he saw my MRI was that he hoped I hadn't been walking all that much, as my PCL was torn in half. A two hour surgery would up lasting about 4ish hours because of all scar tissue and stuff that was in there. Rehab SUCKS! I still have problems with the stupid knee. I wish RG3 a speedy recovery, and hopefully he will still be able to play at the level he was before the injury.

  • i have to disagree with some of you.. if a high profile player is telling you he's good "i'm hurting not injured" then you have to believe in him that he's being honest... now it was obvious to see the limp after the out of bounds play, but Bob was steadily telling ratboy he's good, hell he was gaining 8 , 9 yrds on every scamper, not to mention he had some bad throws, but he had some decent ones too that his recievers dropped or alligator armed, he wasn't completely helpless out there... i put all the blame of Bob Griffin, he was being selfish and his pride could have cost his team the game... because we don't know what Cousins would have done if given the chance.

  • That's a cop-out, hawker84. Players want to play no matter what, and many aren't above lying their way onto the field. Every fan in the stadium and on TV knew RG3 should have been pulled at halftime, if not earlier. RG3 was stubborn, and Shanahan was stupid. End of story.
