Webb sucks real bad. Ponder might have won this game for the viks.

I seriously doubt that.

Yea, I don't see that either. Vikings look terrible all over the field. Do not look like a playoff team at all.

Not sure if some of you guys realize. A good deal of Vikings fans have been calling for Webb over Ponder for a good portion of the season. He was there popular backup that fans dream is better than their disappointing starter. The Charlie Whitehurst kinda guy that fans foolishly think could be good if he just gets a chance. Just goes to show how stupid and silly that line of thinking always is.

And just because Webb was so woefully unprepared and inadequate, it doesn't mean you have to have a backup the caliber of Matt Flynn. You can have a TJack level backup that's capable of coming in and not crapping all over the place. Teams for ages have had capable game manager backups without having to have a borderline starter as the backup and paying him starter money. I don't see how this Joe Webb deal holds any weight in terms on the Seahawks and Matt Flynn's future.

Good call SeaTown. You don't need a starter in waiting, you just need a Gary Kubiak that can come in and play the same offense you're playing. In fact, those situations are better. I remember when the Raiders had three guys that were all starter level and it just created chaos. Once they jettisoned Marc Wilson and turned everything over to Plunkett and said "he's the guy" they won a lot more. Having those two jostling for starts from week to week was bad for the team.

You need a Doug Williams. A guy who can play hard, rally the team, is liked by teammates, and can throw the ball. You don't need Jonny Unitas on the sidelines. Doug stepped in and won a Superbowl just by being a super well prepared guy, which he always was, even in his bad days with the Bucs, nobody ever questioned Doug's preparation. Jeff Hostetler comes to mind too. He was given a chance as a full time starter in Oakland and just didn't have it, but as a part timer he was spectacular. He was a great backup, was a team oriented guy, and when he came in everybody stepped up a bit and helped him succeed because they knew they had to.

Feel bad for Webb he's typically better then he showed tonight, he appeared to be aiming and throwing off balance a lot.

I know Webb played terrible yesterday, but he's played better in the past, and he could make a nice back-up for RW with his ability to run the read-option his running ability. He's a free agent after the season is over.
