This is nothing new, Pete and every other team in the league have officials out to training camp to teach the players what the rules are, new rules, how they enforce the rules, etc.

What Belichick and his staff do better than anyone else is teach and prepare...............and they do it through no nonsense discipline and preparation, or as they call it "The Patriot Way."

Conversely, the "Seahawk Way" is to play hot jams during practice, have your coach strut around laughing and playing with his players keeping things loose.

Which also has it's advantages, it allows our players to play loose and fast not thinking too much. Downside is LOTS of penalties and mistakes.

I think teaching and preparing is half of the equation definitely.

The other half of the equation is that Belichick is just friggin' heartless and ruthless when it comes kicking people to the curb if they don't or can't do exactly what he wants at all times.

Unless you're willing and able to be the avatar that's 100% controlled by Belichick's joystick, you're just not gonna be on that team for long.

it's why I thought the deflategate fumble stats thing was always so overblown. The Pats don't have a lot of fumbles because it's WELL KNOWN that no matter how good you are, if your an RB and you fumble in New England best case scenario is within seconds you're on the bottom of the depth chart for the rest of the year, and he might just out right cut you.

It's the same way for penalties. Think of guys like Ifedi or Bennett, who both jump offsides. Even with all his talent, If Bennett was on the Pats he would have gotten shipped off years ago just because Belichick is ready to get rid of anyone no matter how good they are because unforced errors piss him off.

Chandler Jones led the league in sacks this year, and Jamie Collins got a huge payday from the Browns last year, but Belichick just shipped 'em both of without a care because they wouldn't act like avatars for his joystick at all times.

Those who are Seahawks fans just have to go back to Holmgren, unforced errors he would chew you up and spit you out, interceptions and fumbles better he explainable or freakish situation ,Ahman Green didn't last long here due to that.

Holmgren's teams were also at the bottom of the league in penalties.
