Oh yeah. Ponder vs Gabbert. Like Montana vs Young all over again.

Possibly.

Hehe. :D

Is "dead arm" really a thing or just some made up excuse?

Didn't what's his name have something like a dead arm and that was what helped open the door for Wilson?

Pretty sure it was something that silly hence my question.

So Kaep needs little blue pills to get his flaccid arm to wake up after being out of football a year and a half or so?

Nobody "opened the door" for Wilson. He kicked it in. ;)

So now they have Kaepernick, Gabbert, and Ponder. Are they trying to corner the 2011 QB class? Would Jake Locker come out of retirement?
LOL, it goes from bad to worse for the SC dumpster fire. My condolences to Kats.

So, according to Matt Maiocco, he doesn't actually have a "dead arm" as reported in the clinical sense.

His shoulder just got tight from overuse returning from an injury. Still not good for him. Its supposedly day-to-day and not week-to-week, but we'll see.

Honestly, part of me thinks what might be best for him is for Gabbert to get the starting job, get shellacked in the first 4 weeks and then get his shot.

Who knows though.

As for Ponder, he was signed because Thad Lewis tore his ACL vs the Texans.

Well if you read the link I provided in my original post the person that says it will take weeks for him to recover is an orthopedic surgeon and a professor at Duke. Maiccio is a sportswriter who apparently plays a doctor in the newspaper. Who you gonna believe? Think I'll go with the orthopedic surgeon myself Marv.

^^^^ The doctor you're leaning on has never seen Kaepernick, and clarifies he's just speculating about his condition.

The reporter you're maligning, through reporting, is clarifying that Kaepernick does not actually have the medical condition that is being attributed to him, and to which the doctor is speculating on.

Maybe he does actually have that condition. Who knows. But your post is still off base.

I'm not leaning on anyone and was just passing along something I saw reported. It's just as possible the team is using said reporter as a mouthpiece to keep any trade value up. I'll still go with what the surgeon said until I see the guy throwing in a game situation. And really, it doesn't matter to me personally either way. But I'll be glad to admit I'm wrong if he's throwing passes in the next week or two.

Keep spinning Popeye it entertains me so much. One day you might challenge Marvin. Spin, spin, spin like that 1980's group nobody remembers..... entertaining remember? Until I see different in an actual game it's bullshit. Remember to spin right round though.

I do know that even if the orthopedic surgeon is merely speculating, he's doing so based on years of experience and education. The reporter however is merely passing along information he was told by another person. If that person is not a team orthopedic specialist I don't put much credence in what he has to say.

I bet Kaepernick planned it this way. This way he still screws over the 49ers by making millions doing absolutely nothing.

At least with the losses Gabbert will give over the next couple years, maybe the 49ers will have a shot at Josh Rosen by then, assuming he comes out early.

If Timmy K or Lowell reported this very same thing would you believe it?
