Who are you rooting for today? There's a case to be made for each one, plus a lot of us have some animosity towards both teams for various reasons. It basically boils down to who do we want to win the division? The loser will probably get a wild card.

The case for the Packers: Since we already lost to the Packers, they hold a tie breaker over us. We have no shot at winning our division, so we aren't competing with them for the #2 seed. We'd basically be competing against them for a wild card if they were to lose this game. We still have an opportunity to hold a head-to-head tie breaker over the Vikings, increasing our wild card chances. And screw the Vikings because Hutchinson.

The case for the Vikings: They are not as good as their record. Football Outsiders has them at just 19th in DVOA. If we make the playoffs and the Vikings win the NFC North, there is a good chance we'd play them in the first round. They would probably get the 3rd seed, the Packers would probably get the 5th seed, and we'd get the 6th seed, which would pit us against the Vikings in the first round. This would probably be our easiest matchup. And screw the Packers because they whine about everything.

First Seattle needs to pass the other teams in front of them who currently own tiebreakers over Seattle

5th Packers At Vikings
6th Falcons H Indy
------------------------------------------------------
7th Redskins At Carolina
8th Buccaneers At Philadelphia
9th Rams At Baltimore
10th Seahawks H San Fransisco

All of these games have an impact.

The division is not out of reach for Seattle yet. Last year after 10 games they were 3 games back. They are 3 games back this year after 9 games. But those above all have WC implications as of today.

But the conversation was about the upcoming Vikings-Packers game, not the rest of the NFC.

Actually if you read the post in it's entirety and with an open mind you might see that playoffs and seeding are mentioned. Which are over a month away and not about this game. To get to that conclusion then you have to factor in the rest of the NFC. But thank you for your usual condescending post.

I did read it. With an open eyes and open mind. The post was about who should Seattle fans root for. You decided to point out all the other teams ahead of the Seahawks making no actual point about the game in question and how THAT game impacts Seattle.

Condescending was your typical defensiveness when you get called out.

My post was about just the Packers vs Vikings game, not the rest of the NFC. I readily admit there are more playoff implications than just this game, but I'm not trying to make this a discussion of how the entire NFC needs to play out for us to reach the playoffs.

I am pulling for a tie. Hate the Vikings but get a kick seeing the Packers going through this mid-season hiccup. Still think in the end the Packers win their division.
