PFT has a nice read about how stupid the ESPN QBR system is.

Somehow ESPN thinks this performance http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=300926027 by Charlie Batch of all people had the best QB performance in the past 10 years

The article conveniently leaves out that Batch had a 10.8 YPA and 3 passing TDs in just 17 attempts. Even with the picks, it was a really good game for Batch. Not the best ever, but good.

I would have rather seen them use the example where Kaep singlehandedly lost a game against the Rams in 2013 with an abysmal performance and still ended up with an 81 QBR.

Yeah, I don't put any weight on ESPN's QBR.

QBR suffers in the same way as PFF.

As soon as you start adding opinions to a statistical grade, it becomes flawed.

The Batch example is only as daft as Aaron Rodgers' 5-TD performance against Kansas City being given a negative grade this season by PFF.
