Post-season Result: Super Bowl win over the Denver Mannings
It's crazy enough that I'm predicting a Super Bowl win. To expect a fairy-tale 16-0 season would just be too much. Seattle has frustrating injury concerns along the D-line and amongst Wilson's arsenal of targets, and let's not let our optimism cloud the fact that preseason proves nothing. Our interesting D-line depth is still untested and has a lot to prove.
It just feels natural that Seattle will have a "wakeup call" period during September. It wouldn't be a Seahawks regular season without some element of letdown, serious worry, and fan seppuku. Nor would it feel right without the sportscasters having some reason to marginalize the Seahawks. So it'll happen. We enjoyed a lot of close wins last year. Without pass rush and with the league showing signs of adapting to our offense last year, those tight wins turn to tight losses. Week 1 is always weird. The 49ers win a nailbiter off a couple of lucky plays as our new defense keeps learning about itself. The Texans and Colts are early games, and though I don't see us getting blown out, I see it being just enough. The "young QB" storylines shift away from Wilson and back towards former idols like Luck and Locker, and we're left turning against each other on .Net and wondering if we were all wrong about Russell Wilson.
Perfect.
Fueled by the snide dismissal of the country after starting 1-4, Wilson and Sherman again get loud and reignite the team. We get a couple get-well games against chuckle-chuckle opponents, beat the boring Rams, and get Percy Harvin back in time to face the Falcons. From there on, we come roaring back to finish the season with an 11-game winning streak and right through the playoffs to beat Horse-face by at least 10 in the Super Bowl.
