Kirk Cousins had a higher passer rating than Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning. That is not a level of competition issue. Allowing Manning to go 80 yards in less than a minute after the team had shut him down all game is not a level of competition issue. They proved they could stop him, but had key breakdowns that led to scores. Those types of breakdowns showed up again against Washington. Seattle is allowing opponents a 97.8 passer rating in 2014. Only four quarterbacks managed to reach that mark against Seattle in 2012 and 2013 combined

Its really all about the INTs... Seahawks aren't just coming down with them.

If Kam doesn't tattoo Burley and instead makes a play on the ball Sanders bobbles for his 2nd Int, Manning ends the game with a passer rating in the 50's.

If Thomas comes down with 1 INT vs Cousins, he goes from a 100 passer rating to the high 70's.

If Bobby Wagner turns his head covering Cobb deep downfield Rodger's also drops.

Right now, the issues is capitalizing on Ints.

We just haven't getting them... just 2 in 4 games.

Part of that are playing really great QBs, even Cousins is pretty decent, just because he's a backup means jacksquat, for whatever reasons Redskins still drafted him in the 3rd round the same year they traded their future for RG3.

But obviously opponents are testing the Seahawks defense, now that they can't go all out with their "press coverage" and "hand checking".

But I also see a defense trying to find a rhythm and having to do so against the elite QBs in the NFL.

This is isn't starting the seasons against most conserative version of Cam Newton ever or clutz Kaepernick or Chad Henne or Pick 6 Schaub (who actully tore the Seahawks up in the 1st half). The first decent QB we saw.... guess what... handed the Seahawks their first loss in a similar frustrating game... Andrew Luck.

Then comes Ryan Fitz, the Ghost of Carson Palmer, and Kellen Clemons.

Then the Seahawks let Matt Glennon school them but would shutdown a listless Matt Ryan.

Then Ponder and Jarius Wright burns Sherman for 2 TDs. Another Moral Victory foor their fans.

Then by the time the Seahawks would face an actually ELITE QB its Drew Brees, late november/early december, in primetime, Seahawks are nearly unbeatable at home and Saints aren't the best road team especially in the chill. Perfect storm. It took 11 weeks for the Seahawks to get an elite QB.

The NFL gave the Seahawks 3 of them right off the bat into 2014.

Seahawks still have 12 games to plays, and I think with each game, all those wrinkles that teams are finding that expose the scheme will get smaller and smaller.

And once the Seahawks can start getting luckier in coming down with the easy to make turnovers that they keep dropping or barely miss out on... that's when the opponents confidence starts to break and when the defense can play its mental game.
