Sounds also like Norwood is struggling with an injury from college. Maybe this paves the way for Bates if Norwood is a no go?

Bates was originally a WR. That they experimented by using him at FB says more about our team's unique values than it does about Bates' abilities.

He's been around long enough I thought the same thing, and then I remembered he was a QB in college. He's come a long ways.

At one time, but he was switched to WR his senior year.
