  • I knew right when Tiffany's was the maker, we were hosed.
Josten's versions were $200-5,000 depending on options.

  • Thanks! I was just going to call the 800 number to check this out.
I was ready and willing to shell out up to $600 for this beauty, but $1,600...OUCH!
    NOW the dilemma begins...

  • Sorry forgot to add:

No options for other metals (jostens will let you spend more money and "upgrade " if you want your ring made out of a more costly metal) what Tiffanys is offering is it.

Damn and I wanted to upgrade to 100% adamantium!

I know what you mean, but with this being the *first* I might be able to justify the price, and just put in a few more over time weekends here at work.

Since my blue pride season ticket spot won't open up for 3-4 years I won't need to worry about coughing up the $$ for season tickets anytime soon.

  • Maybe if it looked identical (mostly cubic zirconia and some diamonds mixed in) to the authentic ring I would pay that.

(And we now know how Tiffany's intends to recoup their losses on producing the players rings)..

I was thinking the same thing, but to find my size 13-14 after someone wants to try and get rid of it might not happen.

Ya gotta think that someone who is going to drop $1.6k on a fan ring probably won't get desperate anytime soon.

  • With the cost and lack of details/stones I wonder if this could be reduced in price the later on in the season we go? It's was never stated this was a "limited edition" only making so many of them. ie: edition of 2000

That has me wondering if it were a L.E. if it would help sales any?

  • I'll spend money on an elite away jersey, I will spend good money for my season tickets as I do every year. I will spend money on cool Hawk lids and t-shirts and all sorts of paraphernalia. I will NOT however, spend my hard-earned money on a ring that looks like something you could pick up at WalMart for $1,600 goshdamn dollars.

Don't insult the 12's. Do it right. Make the ring an EXACT replica of the official ring, make the diamonds Cubic Z, and as long as the mold is the same, you can watch the money pour in.

    Common sense, really.

  • Agreed, Aros. That or set a reasonable price point for the silver ring. The "replica" doesn't look bad, but it is obvious that, at 1600 bucks,Tiffany's is trying to treat fans just like the Seahawks treated the Broncos.

  • I still don't get the appeal of buying a replica Super Bowl ring to begin with. Jerseys, shirts, hats, foam heads, socks, thongs.. sure.. go crazy. But a replica ring just seems over the top to me.. I don't know, I've always considered the rings to be one of those things that should solely belong to the players and coaches that earned them.

But that's just me. I'm probably in the minority on this one. :)

  • It's not a hideous ring, it just isn't a true replica. And I don't think it's worth the retail price being quoted. It looks like a class ring--worth maybe a couple hundred bucks.

That being said, I'd be thrilled if I'm one of the dozen people Paul Allen picks to receive one.

  • there are so many more ways to spend 1600 dollars as a football fan than to buy some ring that you didn't earn on the field that is a knock-off of an achievement someone else accomplished, I'm sorry to say it in a dickish way like that but it's true.

there are several charity event dinners throughout the year that the players show up at including the one prior to Richard Sherman's softball games where a few hundred bucks will get you in the door for an amazing meal and drinks with players and coaches and then you could use the rest of that cash to partake in a silent auction, not only being able to hob-knob with hawks, have an amazing evening and food, buy some auction gear - but also cater to a great cause. All for less than you would pay for this ring, taxes, shipping - for something that you'd look absurd actually every wearing, so it would just sit on your shelf.

I spent 12 bucks at a smoke shop on a superbowl champion's flask, much better investment than a 1600 dollar piece of jewelry that is pretty much impressing nobody.

Agreed. I think we should all be thankful they brought a championship and gave nods to the 12s in all the ways they already have. To own/wear a knock off replica is pretty pathetic. Same reason I wouldn't buy a replica Lombardi.
