On NFL Network for our Hawks and the secondary we have up here. Put a huge smile on my face when they kept gushing over our guys!

Lots of love, but I don't see them going through the evaluations they were given to see what they did wrong...

Yep, during the draft you will hear a lot about "Seattle corners" and "Seattle safeties" when the experts are talking about various players. The Seahawks are now the standard by which all other DBs will be measured for a while.

You are going to see a lot of big corners come off the board early regardless of their cover skills because teams are going to try to copy Seattle should be quite amusing.

The great irony of all this is:

leading up the Superbowl, all we heard about from various sources was how much our secondary held, how much DPI they got away with, etc.

After we stomped a mudhole in the most prolific offense in NFL history, all we're hearing about is how we've changed the league on defense. The irony here to me is that now that all of the "holding" is coming into play, we're probably going to get hit with a lot less of the marginal calls we were victimized with in the past.

If we sign all of our key players back (Bennett), and increase our depth some, we could actually be looking at a historic regular season NFL defense. I also see teams attacking us via the run game even more now.

Prior to the beginning of the on-field drills, the Giants DB's coach gave the entire unit a little 'pep talk' and specifically called out the fact that the Super Bowl champs' secondary was "a first, a fourth, a fifth and a sixth," and that the SB MVP was "a seventh" who wasn't even at the combine.

It was actually a first, two fifths and a sixth. A fourth is added in the dime.

Yep, he didn't get it quite right, but the sentiment was there. ;)

And that doesn't even include Browner, who was undrafted.

Well whats great is they will be drafting for size, Pete and John went beyond that the mental make up they look for is the driving factor for our guys. Teams hoping to swing for the fences is only going to make our draft better. They also if they draft big will have to change their defensive schemes to accomadate what we do, thats hard for a lot of DC's to do. Oh and how many Earl Thomas' are out there........................
