  • This whole circus surrounding ML is unfair and unbalanced. Some members of the media keep whining "we're just doing our jobs". No you're not. Doing your job would be identifying the difference between a story and a non-story, then focusing on the story. 2 things here:

    1) Some of this crap is taking pressure off of Denver

    2) This is also unfair to Denver. "86 hrs of media coverage"? Then 43 of those hrs should be focused on Denver and the great things they accomplished this year. This is also Denver's SB. Their day in the sun. Why are they being deprived of this deserved attention (or sheltered from it)?

Shoddy reporting is the only explanation.

I think it's kind of obvious. Look back at all the RRRs. I've seen some early stuff from him and it seems to have grown in intensity.
Probably as a result in mistrusting the media.
I'm no expert, this is just my view of it. I hope this causes the NFL to reconsider their stance on this issue.

  • This is what happens when you get a introvert and put him in front of many interviewers.

I think he should just stick to 1 on 1 interviews with ex-players. He seemed pretty chill with deion.

  • Poor Dude,

I hate public speaking. Its been debilitating for me at work and and in certain social situations, for sure. I've tried to never let it hurt me in those aspects though. That what marshawn's doing. He's probably mad at himself for feeling this way and makes himself go up there rather than pay the fine. doesn't make it easier.

Huge props to Mrob, thats a good dude.

I think it's a shame that the NFL/media is allowed to strong arm an individual to go outside of himself like this. These are real issues for some people, and the NFL writers are getting utterly nothing out of this besides feeding their own ego. It's disgusting IMO.

I get what you are saying here, but you shouldn't lump social anxiety and introversion into the same basket. Introversion and extroversion are simply classifications for how your brain processes information and stimuli around you. There are introverts who are fine speaking in public and extroverts who have anxiety speaking in front of crowds. Not trying to nitpick and don't wanna come across like a smart ass. Just a misconception that i deal with a lot in the work place and one that is often perpetuated.

That's why I used "and/or." I'm pretty familiar with the differences between the two. However, I don't know enough about Marshawn to definitively say he is one or the other or both. I know full well that it could be one but not the other and that they each can manifest itself in different ways.

You need to revisit history. Lynch was a quality back in Buffalo. His numbers his first two years are very similar to what he posted here in Seattle.

:13: that's what I thought too! He looked very scarred and uncomfortable!! I personally felt very sorry for the beast mode..... I also feel sanders did a great job with lynch in the interview yesterday, sanders made lynch feel comfortable and showed him some love. Both lynch and sanders were very classy yesterday just by being themselves.

  • Funny, but Dion walked right over, found Lynch, reassured him he wouldn't be a jerk and got a great interview. Why is that...? Well I would guess it is due to mutual respect and Marshawn knew that Dion would not behave like the other microphone thrusting, story twisting, media-bots that he has no appetite for. Rather than wonder why Lynch won't do interviews when obviously he did...Perhaps the other "reporters" should instead ask themselves why they could not get Lynch to answer any of their questions. The best interview is not the easy one, but it sounds like someone actually interviewed him...it just wasn't them.

Also Clayton might want to rethink his stance on saying Lynch is an embarrassment... his access to the well of Seahawk players for interviews might just dry up. Anyone who calls America's (and my) favorite Beast Mode running back an embarrassment, has lost me.

I would have been shaking too. During today's session, the press was acting quite literally like a pack of jackels. They have stopped being responsible media IMO and have become Paparazzi(sp?) I don't think they care what he says as long as they can destroy him in the process.

Maybe the "trembling" was anger. His nickname is Beast Mode after all
He might have some anxiety from being asked all the damn questions about why he doesn't talk to the media. Doesn't mean he has anxiety "issues". I'd get pissed too if all I got asked was "why don't u like us?" Or "talk to us about why u don't talk to us."

Yeah he was clearly uncomfortable, but so what. Screw those media bitches.

That's exactly right. We all know they do all they can to catch players making mistakes so they can capitalize on it. Lynch should be left alone...hell I admire his humble approach. His humility is a rarity in all pro sports today. Instead of respect he gets pushed around and threatened because he's a quiet person who does their job well and doesn't seek attention? I was raised to believe that's how good people should behave. My opinion, but I for one don't care for the TO's and Ocho Cinco's of the nfl...I like Marshawn.

  • Doesn't help when our own media outlets can't get it together, either.

In this case, the website of KING 5 features an article written by DENNIS WASZAK Jr, who MIS-quotes Marshawn today, when he wrote:

"I don't appreciate this," (Lynch) said in a tone barely above a whisper. "I'm just here so I won't get fined."

What Lynch actually said was "I appreciate this...(but) I'm just here so I won't get fined".

Actually a huge difference. Journalism is at an all time low, IMO.

A good agent would bring this to the forefront the next time his client is chastised for an unwillingness to participate. Quite sad, and in some countries, the author of such blunders would be sued.

  • Watching Lynch rock back n forth while looking away. The angry tone and nervous expression. Sure he's angry that Clayton and the media are pulling strings and purposely bullying him. It's also painfully obvious he's got some level of social phobia. It's consistent with his avoidance of camera time in the RRR. Some guys can stand the camera to an extent but won't admit they become crippled by fear at times because they don't want to appear weak. MRob probably knows this about Lynch and the fact guys like Clayton presses the issue makes it worse because asshats now purposely target him. Sad day because Clayton has now lost a listener.

More so than when black guys speak perfect English?

I ask because this is the 2nd time, that I know of, that you took a shot at white people. Once might be funny, more than once and you're telling on yourself.

This is a Seahawk forum and I like to think of sports as something of a sanctuary or a melting pot for all races to come together as one...if only in theory. 'aight?

More so than when black guys speak perfect English?

I ask because this is the 2nd time, that I know of, that you took a shot at white people. Once might be funny, more than once and you're telling on yourself.

This is a Seahawk forum and I like to think of sports as something of a sanctuary or a melting pot for all races to come together as one...if only in theory. 'aight?

Tomorrow is the last day were the team has to make the players available for the press, so one more day.

  • Just keep Mike Rob nearby to stop Marshawn from snapping any reporters in two.

  • I could be wrong, but I never really got the impression Lynch was getting angry. I thought he was just more annoyed, perhaps even seeing the whole thing like a big cartoon. He actually seemed somewhat congenial / respectful...like when he said "I appreciate this (but) I'm just here so I don't get fined". Like...this is your thing, I understand that, it's just not for me.

Was it me...or did Sherm just not get the face time he deserved. ; ) In any event, like the Doc said above, one more day.

That's basically the way I feel too, Jsea. Reports of him being "the team joker / prankster" while driving a Lambo, don't jibe with the prototypical "introverted personality" the press is trying to sell us. If I were them, I'd try to sell the same thing. Beats the hell out of "he sees us as clowns and likes to toy with us".

I believe that was Doug Farrar asking if that was a cultural thing and he was laughing when he asked it. And MikeRob was laughing when he responded.
