  • This is very good news. If he responds well with no symptoms, they will likely let him practice for real.

  • That's VERY good news! That means he passed his initial protocols. Per protocol, the first practice returning from a concussion is always limited. Always. That's NFL protocol.

That doesn't mean that Harvin will play, but at least it's possible.

  • Standard protocol for this point in a successful recovery. Non-contact practicing to see if symptoms reappear. Encouraging news!

  • Get worked up about news that doesn't matter.

All that matters is Percy passing both tests.
I enjoy ruining threads by making them about personal attacks and then commenting about how personal attacks make the other person's argument invalid.

  • How are radio stations not all over this? You'd think they would know who is at practice.

Farnsworth just said on 710 that kj was out there practicing in a limited basis. How can he know that and not anything about Harvin?

There is a policy that they cant report injury information until the team releases their report per league protocol.

What they "need" to do is follow the protocol. Concussions are serious. Percy's life is more important than fan desire.

He did. Percy is not at practice, but they're following the next step in the protocol.

To learn more about the process, google: "nfl concussion protocol". They're keeping this close to the vest.

no it means nothing, you could translate petes words today to say

" we will not say details on anything, he is still being tested "

but percy knows how he feels, pete knows how he feels. Pete PROBABLY knows wether or know percy knows where he is located. Percy knows if he feels dizzy.

    close to the vest

if i had to bet, he is announced to play on sunday itself and makes a decent impact.

    they know he is playing.

No. It means they are going through all the steps. We don't know what step he is on or if he failed any.

This 'deadline' of practicing today is something that fans and media are making up. I don't think it means anything. He does have to get through a practice though and show no signs, so if he doesn't practice tomorrow, the odds will go down that he plays

Which is why in a sane world, Sean Payton's career within the NFL (or really any kind of organized football at all) would be over. If Percy does make it back, at least the Niners aren't the Rams or Ain'ts, and Coach Douche actually seems to respect the game enough not to encourage outright head-hunting.

4th paragraph in "DAYS AFTER THE GAME" section:

A player feeling normal one day after the game might pass cognitive testing Tuesday and begin a light exercise program, intensify their exercise routine Wednesday, participate in non-contact aspects of practice on Thursday and return to full practice Friday.

Based on this it sounds like he's behind schedule if he's not practicing on Thursday.

There is no set schedule, at least not in the way you are inferring.

The team is cautious with all injuries and take the league's focus on "taking the head out if the game." You need look no further than Kam Chancellor learning to hit the right way.

They're following the rules of the protocol. There is honestly nothing else to go on. You can't compare two different concussions on two different players or attempt to infer what stage he is in. Even if he doesn't end up playing, there were no facts to make that inference now with the information available.

I know no one is going to feel better about that and the want definitive answers. There really is nothing more to learn on the subject, even if Sean Dimond sends out a tweet.

  • Hardwick for the Chargers wasn't cleared to practice last week until Friday, so it's not unheard of for a player to be cleared to practice so late in the week.

I do know one thing, I'm tired of Percy Harvin drama. It's freaking exhausting.

    To note, the Dr.Herring quoted in that section is one of the Seahawks team physicians. He also states;

The player's history of injury and other issues come into play

Which does not bode well in Harvin's case, although we shall see tomorrow.
