Will somebody please tell me why anyone in their right mind wouldn't just go out of bounds in that situation?!? Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy the Seahawks won. But come on, this is football basics - it a situation like that you go out of bounds then let your quarterback work his magic one final time.

Poor clock awareness.

Either go out of bounds or turn and run. The field looked pretty open.

Well okay, it is possible he didn't realize how much time was left. But I could say that a player should always be aware of that, especially in close game situations.

This. Pretty sure it was a designed play and Colston turned and saw the receiver he was supposed to throw to was already in front of him. Draw everybody to one side on the reception with them expecting you to step back and then throw back across to the other side is probably as high probability as a hailmary.

Certainly the most interesting final play of a Seahawk playoff game ever.

no way. that looked like something that pretty boy payton drew up.

But he threw the ball forward ending his teams chance to win. He gave his team no chance. Definitely a brain fart by him.

noted. i thought you were saying he brain farted by deciding to lateral in the first place, but you're just saying by the lateral. how about we just agree the saints are mentally and physically our inferior entirely?
