Which is pretty damn good considering the strength of schedule, NFCW defenses, and our offensive game plan (run, run, run some more).

I think Pete said in the interview that it's third highest in franchise history?

1. Broncos 606 (Loaded with weapons)
2. Bears 445 (NFC North)
3. Patriots 444 (Miami, Bills, Jets)
4. Eagles 442 (Dallas, Redskins, Giants)
5. Dallas 439 (See above)
6. Bengals 430 (Great defense, AJ Green)
6. KC 430 (Loaded team on offense with Reid at coach)
8. Green Bay 417 (Pretty good considering the lost Rodgers for a while)

8. Seattle 417 (Rams #15 Defense, 49ers #5 Defense, Cardinals #6 Defense, Panthers #2 Defense, Texans #7 Defense, Saints #4 Defense, Giants #8 Defense, Bucs #18 Defense...)

Oh yea, we played back ups in some games.

That's an amazing achievement when you consider what it took, what we played thru, to get there. Have any idea how many points were scored by our D? After the Smith pick 6, I was looking for that stat but couldn't locate it.

Yep. And if you go down the list, nearly every team above them is run by an offensive HC or Manning/Brady. The lone exception is Cincinnatti, but they played weaker defenses and had AJ Green.

It's weird how last year we played a murderers row of QBs and this year we played a murderers row of defenses.

The 2005 Seahawks scored 452 pts.
this years team was 35 pts off their mark.

Shows how much the league has changed.
The amount of teams scoring 400+ pts has almost doubled in 8 years.

How many points did the defense/special teams score this year? It's not correct to credit the offence with all the points.

I think that's an impressive stat. There were a good amount of games where we got a decent lead and took our foot off the gas, and went run..run..run..punt. Also playing a decent amount of backups.

Same thing could be said of our defense. If Pete left the starters in the entire season, we would be talking about close to 2000 Ravens and at least as good as the 2002 Bucs type of defense (we're already there except PPG....we allowed 14.4, the Bucs allowed 12.2).

Point Differential:

1st: Denver +207
2nd: Seattle +186
3rd: 49ers +134

NFC West combined point differential: +359

Wow. Even more amazing when you consider that those +359 net points came in just forty total non-conference games. NFC-West teams outscored out of conference opponents by 9 points per game on average.
