Thurmond's suspension opened a roster spot on the 53. When his suspension is over after the next game a roster move will be necessary to make room for his return.

The most likely candidate is Perrish Cox being cut based on the FO's fondness of Lane and Maxwell (not to mention their ability).

Is this pretty much a guarantee? There are technically other options. They like/need Snead to backup at safety and Wright, Browner and Harvin have a chance to avoid IR.

EDIT: Meant to say when his suspension is over, rather than asking for the actual date. But yes, i agree, Cox is likely on the block.

Yeah it's going to be Cox. Did he even see the field against the Giants?

Cox is gone. I'm sure he's aware. He played a bit vs. the Giants.

Shead is not going anywhere because we IR'd Jeron Johnson.

If he is gone then what will the Hawks do without their Cox?

Pretty good roster move would be releasing him...

His contract is up after this year. They're not going to release Thurmond outright.

I don't think its a forgone conclusion that it will be Cox, though he's certainly as likely as anyone. I think the Hawks really like Cox's versatility. He's been cross-repping at both CB and S, is already on the ST's units, and has experience as a return man. With the potential return of Harvin for week 17, it wouldn't surprise me if Ricardo Lockette is moved out to clear the spot for WT3.

I don't think Lockette would be cut. That would leave 4WR on the active roster including Harvin. A sub of Cox for a CB you know in Thurmond seems much more likely absent KJ or another player going on IR.

There's an extra OL guy - Caylin Hauptmann that could be cut too. So cutting Cox, while likely, isn't the only option. I could see them keeping Cox for ST if he does well.

He played a few snaps on defense on New York's last drive, too. I'll be he's gone, too.

Turns out BB will be the roster spot. Cox will likely stay.

Assuming success, i wonder how quickly BB can get an injunction.
