  • A new member to the Seahawks.net forum here. I'll be going to the game in HOU from the NW with at least 1 more 12th Man from Seattle - and possibly another one living in San Antonio. Curious what section the 12's are sitting in so we can try to get tickets in that area. Also, is there any plans for a large Saturday night 12 meet up? Go Hawks!

Of course. Much easier to ask us to go back thru it to get the specifics for ya.

Come on man. Skim thru it.

We would love to see ya in Houston.

  • Hamms, here you go:

    Saturday night:
    - Food, Beverages, and bosoms, at Twin Peaks sports bar on Kirby. An informal gathering of responsible Seahawks fans, celebrating our coming together to witness what will be a historic beat-down of an AFC team in their house. To my knowledge, this will be one of the largest groups of .net members gathering at an away contest since the dawn of time. Bring a comb, 'cuz we'll be taking pictures...

    Sunday
    - Tailgating beginning at 7:00am and running up to game time in the Blue lot. We are going to be set up in section 20. Your game ticket gets you into the tailgating lot.

For those not aware (and not wanting to peruse this thread) Texans tailgating is epic. Yes, I said epic. You will not believe the sights, smells, and just plain football partying that goes on prior to the game. Fans down here go all out on specially painted vans, buses, et. al. Barbeque cooking all around you...

    It will be awesome.

  • I just realigned my departure flight and now leave HOU at 9pm Sunday. I look forward to this upcoming event and hope I don't whiz myself for being overly excited.
The pregame and postgame tailgate sounds like a blast and I expect our gracious hosts to please allow us to contribute financially.
BFS, you got our tickets in hand?

  • Does anyone heading to Houston have an extra camera that they don't care about that they could lend me for the rest of the season? I'll mail it back to you after the parade in February (like what I did there?)

As some of you know, I'm documenting the Seahawks Super Bowl run and sadly I lost my flip-cam at yesterday's game. And i was stone sober! Slipped out of my pocket sometime in the 4th quarter. Unreal, and dont worry, ill replace it if something by chance happens to your camera. That's why id prefer it be a camera you dont care about anymore, although ive sworn to myself to never lose anything again. EVER!

So is there anyone headed to Houston who can do this? Itd me an amazing gesture and deeply appreciated. Youd be a part of making something amazing happen and youd definitely get producer credit when the documentary is complete.

Thanks in advance for the thought,
    Dave

  • Ok gang. It's now game week. Woo hoo, I think we've got about 22 .nets coming. Here is a quick summation of the very flexible plan. I have a room for Sat night at the Reliant Crown Plaza, as do some of you. I've requested early check in and will be there as soon as they allow. Scott has done the recon on TwinPeaks and that will work good for us. No set times, just filter in at your leisure. I've got the parking spot secured and we will be adjacent to Scott's buddy (big time Texans tailgater). Logistics have made it difficult to plan a big game day feast but we will have dogs and chips to soak up the beer and drinks. Several of y'all have mentioned contributing some funds to the effort, in regards to this I think the best way to handle it, is this. Saturday eve we can do a collection for beer/drinks and I'll make the run. I'm going to supply the dogs n chips. Scott's buddy will afford us some grill space. We will have an awning and table or two. Plenty of coolers and ice. If you wish to contribute to the beer/drink fund, but won't be at Twin peaks I ask that you maybe hook up with one of the guys you know and send whatever along with them. We do need to take care of the drinks Saturday because as Scott already said, we can't buy alcohol on Sunday until noon. Like I said much of the plan is flexible and should somebody have a suggestion we are open. I will be in line for the parking spot by 5:30-ish Sunday morning. Unless something changes this is at gate 5, blue lot. I will be in a yellow Hummer. Gate 5 is within walking distance of the Crown Plaza if anybody wants to start early and meet up. Somebody bring a 12 flag to TwinPeaks and I'll get it hung ASAP at our spot. I had a couple hundred action green arm bands made for us to give away. And I made us a Seahawks vs Texans beanbag toss game, to challenge the texans fans with. Will be ok food, good beer/drinks, Great company!! As well as fun n games. " GOHAWKS"

There is at least two threads on the matter. I'm going but live in Houston area. I know they have a group over there but I don't know any of them personally. This picture was from last years playoff game at Atlanta.

  • What bar is everyone drinking at in Houston Saturday? Me and a couple friends would like some hawks fans to drink with.

  • Great job medic. I arrive at 4:40 pm Saturday and after getting a rental and checking in at the plaza, I should make it to Twin D Cups a little after 6.
I offered Dom a ride Saturday night and I have room for another 2 or so.
Let me know if you need a lift from the Crown Plaza to Twin EEE Cups (the more the merrier).
I don't plan to hoot with the owls too late though as I must fly with the Seahawks in the early morning.

Go Hawks...getting excited and looking to go 4-0 for the first time in our history.

  • Hopefully by Thursday, we should consolidate all information and post it one more time for everyone's benefit. That way nobody can complain, I did not know where to meet. Crowne Plaza folks, I will be there around noon. Let me know if anyone want's to do something for lunch and what time we head over. I am so far leaning to take a cab from the airport with no one interested in carpooling

  • Here is a question for the professionals. Is there a chance/way to find out where the team will be doing walk through practice on Saturday? I think it would be awesome to swing by and sneak a peek. I'm guessing UofH or Rice. Both are very close.

Edit: Rice is at home on sat. U of H is away.

  • This also would be cool. Send an invite to some of the players via twitter or whatever works. I don't do social media. But how cool would it be if one or two of the guys would stop by sat. evening.

  • My wife and I are in Austin and would love to go but turns out tickets are really expensive the week of the game! Who'd a thunk it??

If anyone happens to end up with 2 tickets without a home, Katiehawk and I will be more than willing to come down and Rep' The 12 with ya'll!

Just puttin' this out there... just in case...
