Plus you guys will get the pleasure of being in the same row as BFS and myself. Truly a blessing.

Awesome! We gonna own that row. Do you guys have any plan to meet up somewhere beforehand?

Here is a little travel tidbit. Houston average temperature on sept. 29th is. High 85 low 68. Many days in late sept. are still in the 90s. Obviously the actual game won't be an issue. Tailgate festivities are a separate issue. If any of you are hot natured, bring some shorts. This time of year the weather here can change quickly but you can probably count on it being warmer than you might think.

I'm booked to fly in late saturday night, staying at the crown plaza. My ticket guy hasn't come through yet, so let me know if anyone has an extra and I'll gladly purchase it.

Dive bar.

Wanted to go to Johnson Space Center but I heard the traffic is so bad on a friday that it would be a massive headache. Also wanted to go to Galveston and see the Moody (Sp?) gardens but same traffic issues involve that.

If you are staying close to reliant, you would need to go south for the space center. South bound traffic in the AM isn't all that bad. If you ended up at Moody gardens Friday afternoon you would prob miss rush hour coming back, especially of you had dinner in Galveston before heading back. Just saying. Houston traffic can be bad, but based on the locations and travel times involved, no need to miss those things.

Ok gang. HoustonHawk and I need your help. Not sure of the best way to go about it, but we need a head count. Would be awesome if we could be accurate (+or-) 2 heads.

Percussion section chiming in solo for this trip.

Crap, I'm going to have to change my departure flight back to Seattle. Originally departing at 5:30 and like a dumbass I didn't think it through.

It reminds me of 2 things...How do you get a drummer off your porch?

pay him for the pizza.

What is a drummer without a girlfriend?

homeless.

I fit in perfectly.

Arriving Saturday afternoon after scoring a rental car.

I will be there Saturday around noon. I haven't booked a rental yet as I was planning to cab it or carpool if anyone is arriving at the same time. I am taking the 5:50 am flight that morning from Seattle.

Ahem!

Me, +1

Again, for those not wanting to peruse this entire thread for details, our basic rundown goes something like this:

Saturday evening:
- An informal gathering at a sports bars called Twin Peaks, on Kirby. Just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from the stadium area and the Crowne Plaza Hotel. A short cab ride.

Sunday pre-game:
- We are going to be doing some tailgating in the "blue lot" which is about 120 yards from the Southeast gate. We will be quasi-sharing a spot with my landlord, and Pmedic has purchased a spot, so we hope to be in the front corner (NE) of the lot, occupying some decent real-estate, and not mired in the middle of all the Texans folks. Organizing a tent, coolers, etc. so as to create a "go-to" spot for y'all to hang out before the game. I'm looking forward to being able to get a picture (or 20) of all of us making the trip, together, ready for battle.

We are getting the head-count so as to put the finishing touches on food and beverage arrangements as well as how much space we'll need at the bar on Saturday night. As we get closer to this thing, we'll let folks know more details.

Go Hawks!

I'll be there, +2. Flying in to Houston on Saturday morning and staying at the Crowne Plaza. Still haven't found my game tickets yet, me and one of my buddies will be sitting together, the other is a Texans fan and wants to sit a little bit closer to the action since it's his first game at Reliant. The bar on Saturday night sounds like a plan. This is going to be a GREAT trip!

Special Thanks to HoustonHawk82 & pmedic for essentially taking over the reins in this effort.

I rah-rah'd this thing on the front end, but I'm not one for being a real organizer/making arrangements and concrete plans for a group. I'm much more nonchalant informal and go with the flow in my travel style.

So it has been invaluable to have "boots on the ground" making a gameplan of sorts for us.

Thanks, much.

Case in point - are you posting this from Amsterdam??

Vegas (with Warren Moon) last Thursday. Minneapolis Friday. Fargo Sunday. Detroit Monday. Amsterdam Houseboat currently. Soundgarden tomorrow. Seattle Saturday.

It's been a good month. Go Hawks!

I've quickly discovered why it's called "Twin Peaks". :P

Think of Twin Peaks as Hooters with good food and better servers.

Just shut off that stupid crapitalk, Lon and use the mobile app, it's easier to scroll the posts.

I think 16 is still good.

Curious as to what people will be doing the night of the game? I'm currently looking into travel accommodations out of Houston. Wondering if people will be hanging out much after the game, or if most are bolting out of town. Thanks for any feedback. Will help with my decision.

Pmed, I'm just playin, I don't think you missed any. I have 16.

After the game, we will be hanging out at the tailgate spot for a bit until traffic dies down. Gotta break things down too. You're more than welcome to hang out and chill for a bit, goes for anybody that has time on their hands. There will be beverages and so forth.

Could possibly find a place to have dinner and watch the late games. I live about 45 minutes north of the city and about 25 minutes back to Bush Intercontinental. If y'all have never been to The Woodlands, it's like Bellevue is to Seattle. Lot's of clubs and restaurants, high-quality sports bars all over the place.

I am busting a move back to San Antonio shortly afterwards.. how quick depends on the outcome of the game.. last time in Houston I was halfway home by the time final gun sounded.. thanks Jim Mora

I booked my flight for Monday, precisely because I want your post-game analysis immediately after the game. In depth!
