Russell Wilson #3?

I have watched video of Russell from Highschool, NC State and Wisconson and he has never worn the number 3 jersey.
Does anyone know why he chose #3 for Seattle. I have always wondered why #3?

Got any evidence for that, BFS? I can't seem to find any confirmation of any reasons on El Goog. I assumed it was because he was drafted in the 3rd round.

i heard it was his reminder that he was picked in the 3rd round.

He isn't far off. Wilson stated he chose #3 because he wore 16 in college, and John 3:16 is his favorite bible passage. I am paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it.

He also liked the fact that his new and old number combined to make 3:16. I believe there was a thread about this pretty recently.

At least he usually focuses on the positive aspects, Revelations,not so much.

I would like to encourage more speculation on why he chose the #3.

I'll start.

In his last year at North Carolina State he averaged 3.0 yards per carry... hence the number 3.

I think it's because after him and Ashton have a baby then there will be 3 people in their family.

Because he has 3 dogs.
