A fun, simple game to do in the offseason

1. A prediction or statement of fact of something Seahawks related is given
2. You say whether you Buy or Sell that statement and give a short (or long) reason why
3. Make a new prediction for the next poster to answer...and so on

Feel free to answer old post, but you can't make a new buy/sell prediction.

Edit to add: do your best to keep only one buy/sell prediction going to keep things in order.

Buy or Sell: The Seahawks will have the #1 scoring defense of the 2013 season (fewest points allowed)

I'll sell it. They will give up some touchdowns in garbage time when protecting huge leads that will take them out of it.

Buy or sell:

Russell Wilson will be in the top 3 for NFL MVP voting.

Sell. We did it last year, and it's incredibly difficult to do it two years in a row. During the Steelers' dominant defensive stretch - since, you know, about 1972 - they've only done it once.

Buy or Sell: The Seahawks will have a 1000 yard rusher in 2013.

Sell. A balanced offensive attack will keep Wilson from putting up the stats voters look at.

Buying. I think his stats will be more efficient than overwhelming and everyone is in love with passing stats and he'll be passed over though.

Buy or sell:

Seahawks D accumulates 45+ sacks

Buy. Last year they had 36 and it was considered a weakness. This year I expect it to be a strength so to get just 9 more shouldnt be a problem.

Buy or sell:

Percy Harvin will lead the team in Touchdowns scored.

Sell. You know AP and Peyton will lock up two spots if they don't get hurt. It could happen but there will be a lot of guys fighting for that third spot, and East Coast bias.

Buy or Sell. Bruce Irvin leads the team in sacks this year?

Sell. Percy's most dangerous in space. I don't see him getting short field TDs over big and quick TE/WRs and power running backs. He'll get us the short field, then RW will look to other options.

Buy or sell:

Clemons starts week 1 with a pair of sacks, AP style.

Sell. The mere presence of Harvin is going to open up the game for someone, and my first guess is going to be Rice. Miller is the darkhorse in this category. I also don't think redzone target is necessarily his game. His TDs will come on game-breaking plays and broken tackle plays in the redzone that start at or near the line of scrimmage.

Sell...Wilson has a sophomore slump

Buy... we kick the niners asses twice during the regular season, then absolutely bury them for good in the playoffs.

Sell...BFS actually gets over the fact I won $16,000 on a bet last year. (See new car and vacation to Japan).

Sell, I have serious doubts that he will be able to get back to enough strength by week one to make the coaching staff feel comfortable with him playing. There is enough depth on this team

Buy or Sell:

Russell Wilson will have more rushing touchdowns than any other quarterback in the NFL.

Buy. Rob indeed does not know how this works.

Buy or sell: RW will throw for more TDs and fewer INTs than he did last year.

Sell, RW by admission loves to pass out of the read-option and would rather put the ball into the hands of playmakers then run it himself.

Buy or Sell:

By the end of 2014 RW is still undefeated at the Clink in both regular season and playoff games.

Buy: RW is unstoppable at home, and even if he has a hiccup here and there, our defense plays lights out at home.

Buy or Sell: Earl Thomas will have 5 or more interceptions next year.

Buy - Earl Thomas will be the primary coverage safety as Kam will also be used for run stoppage.

Buy or Sell - the Legion of Boom (Browner, Sherman, Thomas, Chancellor) will have an injury free season.

Sell. It's hard to go two straight seasons without an injury.

Buy or Sell:

We will go at least 5-1 in the NFC West.

Buy. A loss to either SF or SL may happen, but I doubt both in one season, and none to AZ this year.

Buy or sell: Christine Michael has more all-purpose yards than Marshawn this year.

Sell. Just as a hunch.

Buy/Sell The Seahawks have a rookie in contention for RotY honors, either offensive or defensive.

Sell. I think this draft was all about 2-3 years down the road and replacing guys with expiring contracts.

Buy or sell, the defense gives up no more than one game losing TD drive (that would be an improvement over the 4 or 5 times it happened last year).

Buy, i don't think the defense will give up any game losing TD's, maybe a field goal.. our weakness was our pass rush and run D, that's been improved, which takes pressure off of everythign else.

buy or Sell: 4 out of 5 of our DB's will be voted into the pro bowl this season.. browner, sherman, Kam, Earl, Winfield..

Buy, they've done it before and the LOB will become media darlings thanks to being on the best defense in the NFL.

Buy or Sell: Despite having more competition, Golden Tate outperforms Sidney Rice on account of better health and YAC

Sell. Sydney was healthy last season and Harvin should help open things up for him.

Buy or sell: RW will lead the league in total TDs.

Sell: I think he'll continue to run only when necessary and our running backs will be taking quite a few touchdowns away from him. I see him around 35 total TDs, but not leading the league.

Buy or Sell: The NFC West sends three teams to the playoffs.

Sell. I see the Lambs improving but not to snag a WC spot given the rest of the NFC strong teams.

Buy or Sell: Carp's injuries are behind him and he starts playing like a Pro Bowler. He doesn't have to make it but there are definite signs he's getting there eventually.

Buy- I'm totally excited for Carpenter. I'm always an "glass half full guy" I was with Unger and that's paid off. I think Carpenter's going to be a mauler and much more effective in pass coverage. I could see him playing at/near a pro-bowl level.

Buy or Sell: 7 or more rookies drafted or UDFA's make the 53 man roster (I'm going with Buy. I think people will be shocked by how many make the team- Bold prediction is 9 make it)

Sell. We have so few roster spots available and most of our rookies are late round selections and UDFAs who will be able to be stashed on the PS.

Buy or Sell: Buy or Sell is silly because sell is almost always the more likely of the two. Saying 'sell' by default will lead to more correct predictions than trusting our gut feelings. Saying 'buy' on anything is like saying 'hit me' on 17 in blackjack.

Sell. Super Bowl players do not play in the Pro Bowl.

Buy or Sell: Seahawks finish season as a top five all-time point differential team.

My bad. So four Seahawks made the 2012 All-Pro team? Buy - I would imagine at least a fifth easily for 2013. (For comparison, 49ers had 10 in 2012.)

Buy or Sell: Seahawks finish season as a top five all-time point differential team.

Sell. Super Bowl players do not play in the Pro Bowl.

Buy or Sell: Seahawks finish season as a top five all-time point differential team.

Sell...every time I expect Seattle have something good, I get let down. I would rather be pleasantly surprised than spectacularly disappointed.

Buy or Sell: 'Hawks finally learn that wearing the gray pants is an invitation to a loss and do away with them for all uniform combinations except the all gray one!

(yeah...I can't let that go :| )

Sell - We have the talent for a record like that, no doubt. But we'll spend so much time running the ball to kill the clock after building big leads, I don't think we'll pull it off.

Buy or Sell - Christine Michael knocks Robert Turbin down to 3rd string back (we are talking 2nd round vs 4th round talent)

I'm buying that one. Too easy really. (Unless Michael comes in with Flynn's attitude and Turbin comes in with Wilson's).

Buy or Sell - Seahawks wear a 'Throwback' jersey (Inception -2001) at home sometime this season.

I'm selling Jazz but I hope I'm wrong. Would LOVE to see the throwbacks!

Buy or Sell - Luke Wilson takes the 2nd TE job away from McCoy (personally, I'm selling)

Buy. Luke's my adopt a rookie so i have to homer for him. If he can block better then McCoy, he has the measurables, and he seems intelligent enough from his interviews. If the kid shows superior talent Bevell will have no problem scheming to his strengths.

Buy or Sell:

Heath Evans picks the Seahawks to win ANY road games in 2013.

Buy. Even haters are jumping on the Seahawks bandwagon and a convincing week 1 win at Carolina we show right away we are not a homefield only team. I think we split the away games and go 4-4.

Buy or Sell:

Sweezy is the week 1 starter at RG.

Buy. Another offseason with Cable I think he has a good chance to lock that spot down.

Sell: Spencer Ware starts a (late season) game at fullback.

Buy. Sweezy and Carpenter provide the 2013 Hawks with the consistency they lacked on the inside at times last season. Both breakout and blossom, in Carpenter's case into a Pro Bowler, and in Sweezy's case a future Pro Bowler (future being next season).

Buy or Sell:

Bruce Irvin gets some looks at SAM and even intercepts a pass in coverage.

Buy. We keep 5 RBs on the roster this year with Ware being the 5th guy. MikeRob will sit out a game w/ injury allowing Spencer to play.

Sell. I don't think KJ Wright got even one interception last year and he was the full-time starting SAM. I'm very excited, though, to see how Pete and Quinn put together this LEO/SAM role.

Buy or Sell:

Bruce Irvin gets 11 sacks or more in the season (he had 8 last year).

I'll buy that. I think, given a stronger D-line this season and more penetration from interior linemen, he'll just have more opportunities.

Buy or Sell: We will block more kicks (punts, fieldgoals, x-points) than last year.

Sell: they are rare. Tha MonstR and Red together should be powerful.

Buy or Sell:
the Hawks lead the NFL in interceptions

Buy. With an improved pass rush, the team that has finished 4th and 8th in interceptions the past two years should have a good chance to rise to the top in that category.

Buy//Sell: Brady Quinn starts a game due to injury this season.

Why would Quinn start a game if he was injured?
