Seahawks just selected OG Ryan Seymour, a player from Vanderbilt who nearly made the Man Crush list. Good player.

Reactions for Ryan Seymour:

Quote:
Danny 710ESPNSeattle ‏@BrocknDanny 4m
#Seahawks drafted G Ryan Seymour, Vanderbilt. He is 6-4, 301 pounds.

Quote:
Danny Kelly ‏@FieldGulls 1m
Seymour - don't know anything about him, scouting reports say he plays nasty (Breno style), very strong 30 reps on bench, quick for an OL

Quote:
Davis Hsu ‏@DavisHsuSeattle 1m
Seymour RT @JaredStanger: Split time at LOT, LOG, and C.

Quote:
Curtis Crabtree ‏@Curtis_Crabtree 1m
According to his Vanderbilt bio, Seymour took snaps at tackle, guard and center last season for the Commodores. Versatile.

Quote:
Jared Stanger ‏@JaredStanger 1m
Interesting late-round swing OL: Vandy's Ryan Seymour. 6'5"/300 w/30 reps and 5.03 forty. Can play OT, OG, C. Blocked for Zac Stacy 1141yds.

Quote:
Seattle Seahawks ‏@Seahawks 42s
Seymour's work in 2012 helped Vandy produce its most explosive offense in more than 50 years. #Pick220 #NFLDraft

Quote:
Derek Stephens ‏@DStephensScout 3m
Already into a Vandy game, watching Seymour.Could be a pick for RT and guard depth. Played G and LT at Vandy. Moves well. Fluid.

Sounds like a solid pick to me. Versitile.

Draft Room cam has him speaking now. He says he could play from RT to LG. Was originally recruited as DL out of HS.

"Defensive lineman who switch to OL are normally the best ones." - Ryan Seymour to Claire

Took snaps at center, started at OG and RT. Coach 'em up and see what he can be.

Perfect scheme fit. Tall, versatile and can move. Plays with a nasty streak.

Seeing some speculation based on a Paul Allen tweet that he could be a Sweezy-style switch type guy. Here's that tweet:

Quote:
Paul Allen ‏@PaulGAllen 7m
Hawks draft Ryan Seymour DT Vanderbilt, @Seahawks

That would surprise me. Love that Paul Allen is tweeting though - he must be the envy of his computer geek pals haha.

Might also be connected to this:

Seymour redshirted during his first year on campus. He practiced during the fall as a defensive tackle candidate, then moved to offensive tackle during Spring Practice.

And here's McQuistan's competition. I like the versatility.

He appears to have good feet and balance. With only being able to dress 7 or 8 linemen they better be versatile as a backup. If he has a nasty streak, I like him.
