last year we had a 5-game plan, and at the end of the season put a deposit down, so I guess maybe they have gone through all the upgrades and should now be getting to anyone in that same boat.

I put in a deposit in January and was told we'd get 4 seats and that he'd get back to me about sections/rows in the spring. I was told we would get seats but he didn't know where yet but that he was sure he could get me ones that were good and not to worry.
I heard nothing so I called the other day when I saw on Facebook that now people are only being signed up for Blue Pride and now suddenly he said that it is unlikely we will get tickets. I was totally misled and I am so disappointed. If I had been told outright my deposit didn't mean anything, that would be different, but I told my kids we had season tickets after I talked to him the first time and put the deposit down and they were soooo excited! With everyone buying them up to sell it is likely to price us out of seats for even a few games. The prices for the game we went to last year were so high that I just figured we'd be better off getting season tickets instead of paying almost as much for single game tickets. : (

So, now do they get to keep my deposit until next year if I stay on the list? How does this work?

  • While I understand your disappointment, 5fan, you also have to realize that even though there are quite a few people who don't renew
their seats in a typical year, this year is far, far from typical. The agent should have mentioned that "past results don't guarantee future success."

The BEST time to get seats is in down years. We sure could have used your voice, and many others, during the Husky Stadium days and the
early years of Seahawks Stadium. Heck, even a couple of years ago during the Mora years you could have had really good seats.

Part of me just shakes my head at the mad scramble for season tickets and wonders why more people don't follow the team win OR lose.

Ummm, yeah. They can't open up more season ticket spots. The NFL requires that a certain percentage of seats is sold as single game tickets. The NFL also requires that ADA tickets, which do not count against blackouts, are taken care of separately and only sold as season tickets to people who qualify.

Basically without remodeling the stadium, they can't add seats, and they already have the maximum amount of seats available for season tickets.

(Caveat: They did add standing room only seats for some games, but these are not available for season ticket ownership, from what I understand, and these are only added for certain games anticipating high demand, like playoff games.)

(Caveat: There are plans available that were developed at the very start for bringing the stadium up to 72,000 seats, the minimum for a Super Bowl, which would involve filling in the upper South bowl, around the 12th Man flag. There are also rumors of plans that would fill in the area around the Hawks Nest, further increasing capacity, but I have no idea how real that option is. Either one would require some construction, and we'd all hear about it before they broke ground, I'm sure.)

Quoted for truth. We got our seats at the tail end of the Erickson era, and I'm not just saying that to say "wow, look at me, I got mine early" more to say that I was excited for games regardless of the coach or who was playing. I'd hazard to say that in the last ten years, at least seven of those ten, if you checked, there were thousands of tickets available for season ticket purchase and no waiting list.

Yeah, I wish I could have afforded it in years prior and I would have snapped them up if there had been any way. We lived 1000 miles away for years with no money to travel to games then moved much closer and I took my kids to a game a year while putting my money toward graduate school. Those were some tight years. Finally not feeling the pinch and felt good at the new year knowing I could afford it and happy to finally be able to offer my kids something like that, which for us is pretty new. Kicking myself now, for sure.
Live and learn, I suppose. I guess I should remember that people trying to sell things aren't always honest. I'll stay on the list --we are forever fans (same with the TrailBlazers---good or bad, we watch and go to a game here and there!) and not with the new masses so when the hype dies down we will still be here. Just a bummer is all.

  • Not a new fan here or a fair-weather fan----just a poor one who couldn't afford more than a game a year for a long time. I didn't even make it to a live game until I was 34 years old but I watched and always wanted to go, and was determined to take my kids (also fans) at much younger ages so they didn't have to wait and dream like me for years.

Bad timing, yes, as of course as I can finally afford it, all of a sudden the demand skyrocketed, but I have been a loyal fan for ages and my daughter, at just 3 yrs old, picked a Seahawks poster for her room over Dora the Explorer, Spongebob, and every other option in the store. It is still on the back of her door.

  • I suppose this could serve as an introduction as well as an answer to some of the comments listed above. I live in Oregon and for the most part I followed NCAA football. I never really had a NFL team but followed it due to my obsession with fantasy football. I had never been to NCAA football game or NFL game due my financial situation. However, last year, me and my wife decided to go to a Seahawks game and asked my brother in-law, who is originally from Boston (annoying as hell Patriots fan) to see if him and his wife wanted to go to the game with us. Needless to say we bought a couple of tickets and headed up to Seattle. Also, I had never been to Seattle. I know, I need to get out more.

Anyway, I was blown away by the energy of the 12th man, and the Seahawks. The 300 level seats on the 50 yard line were great, fans around me were friendly and loud as hell. Not to mention that game was just amazing. I put a deposit down for season tickets shortly after, and bought a couple tickets for the last game of the season Seahawks vs Rams. I wish I would had gone to more games sooner and now I can't wait for next season. If I need to wait for a couple of years for season tickets oh well.

    Go Hawks! Go Ducks!

When did you put your deposit down for seats? I put mine down in mid-late December and was just e-mailed by the Seahawks and they basically told me that I'm "very close" to the area where they will be able to fulfill tickets for this season. If I don't get them this year then I'll be shifted to the "Blue Pride" club or whatever with my spot being held for the 2014-2015 season.

That was kind of a bummer to read, I was told when I placed my deposit in December that I would be able to secure tickets with no problem since my deposit was put down in December but now that doesn't seem like such a good chance.

Just wanted to relay what I had heard to those of you who have deposits on new seats for this season. Should find out regardless in the next 2-3 weeks but I'll remain with my fingers crossed and hope I'll be able to get into the building.

    Exact message:

Your deposit placed back in December is already included in our Blue Pride waiting list with the same priority date. We will begin contacting deposit holders shortly and you are very close to the cut-off of what we think is available. Regardless, you will know soon if you can get seats or what your spot in line is moving forward!

They were probably assuring based upon historical renewal rates.. This year is different, much like after the 05/06 seasons when renewals were close to 90%.. Basically, more people renewed than projected so you are being bumped in order to fulfill existing STH first.

  • I empathize for those of you that are wanting to come join the STH community, but one positive is that you don't have to pay full price for two meaningless games in August. Use that extra money to purchase tix for the primetime games that will be at a premium in the secondary market.

Be thankful it is only 1-2 year wait for tickets.. I have friends in Pittsburgh that have been on their waiting list for 10 years and still have about 10 more before they get the call.. Took my friend in Boston 13 years to get his name on the list.. each year they pay a non-refundable deposit as well to keep their place in the line.

If you plan on going to all the regular games or maybe 6/8. You might as well get a season ticket and pay for the two "meaningless games" worst case you sell those tickets at half price. And primetime games end up costing 3-4x the face value. So you're still better off getting season tickets. Unless you plan to go to only 1-2 games a year.

i.e my ticket last year $750/season ($75/game). Ticket value for same seat for game = $200, Patriots game = $150, Niners game = $200. 3 games = $550. I can say I basically paid $28.50 for each of the other 7 games. I'm basing my values off the girl who sat across me in sec 339 (i'm in 338) who sold off all her big ticket games. So theoretically my seat could have even made more $.

Anyway, I just added 2 extra seats. Not sure which 2 of the 4 I'm gonna keep and sell off.

I'm hoping for club seats. I figured a way I can swing it if by the time they finally get to me they are the only seats left. I'm holding out hope. I guess I don't get my deposit back in any case.

I placed my deposit late Oct early Nov. My deposit invoice said position numbers where in the teens. Not sure if these numbers matter much since I think they get reset.

Any hawk fans want to purchase more than half the games at season ticket holder price? I was going to post them but noticed people that want season tickets won't get the chance. I would rather have hawk fans obtain them.

  • Just curious anyone here who has sideline seats in the 300 section in the single letter rows. How long did it take you to get those seats?

I got my first season tickets for last season, and this season I wasn't able to go down any rows, just move maybe one section closer to the 50 yard line. My end goal would be to be on the sideline view (332-338) somewhere between row K-0, but I'm feeling like at this rate (understandably this is a big year) it's going to take me like 10 years to pull that off.

Where is JJ at exactly? I've only been there a handful of times so I'm not terribly familiar with all the lettering.

But if I am unable to be picked for season tickets this year (should find out in the next two weeks) then I'd surely be interested in doing something like this.

Poor fans, rich fans, and everyone in between. I love all the 12th men! I have to tell you, having never attended a live NFL game and only watching on TV, I had NO IDEA what I was missing until I finally managed to buy tickets for me and my kids and we sat--literally--in the highest row. Up against the concrete---no joke. I saved all year for those crappy tickets and to buy my kids jerseys. I am no less or more of a fan now than I was back then!

I guess everyone that can't afford tickets/parking/food/gas/gear is not a TRUE fan!

Don't worry that guy/girl who owns like 10% of the stadium's season tickets and has his goons selling them outside every game for the past 20 years is the biggest hawk fan of all ofus.

  • I believe the point Riley was trying to make and it is the reason why I kept my tickets even though I moved to Texas in 2006 was that you have to be able to absorb the good and bad in order to reap the benefits of the season tickets.. I am far from wealthy, but made it a priority to keep my tickets and in 08/09 it was pretty hard to get 2/3 face value for the ticket (we were talking about $45 tix at the time).. I ended up giving them away to family/friends in the area.

I initially bought 2 tickets in 2003 in Sect 301 for $20 a pop.. cost me $400 a year.. no for four in 314 it is $2000k.. I don't golf as much nor play softball anymore thus saving my duckets for tix/flights to my favorite place in the world.. CLink..

I know some can't or couldn't do what I did and that is too bad, but don't get all butthurt now because you can't get tickets when we have the most talented team in our history..

GP- that guy who has 10% of the tickets and sells them outside lost his ass in 2008-2011 BTW..

It took me only 1 year but I had to move 1 section away from the 50 yard line. Last year (My first as a STH) I was sitting in 335 row FF. I just "upgraded" on Tuesday to 336 row z.

WTH my upgrade window was on the same day and my ticket manager even let me call in little early and the best he could do for me was moving from 338 DD to 337 DD.

I didn't call. I checked several times online on Monday. Finally I found those seats that became suddenly available really early on Tuesday morning. The Seahawks office was not even open yet. If I was you, I wouldn't call next year and check online because changes occur all the time and the info is up to date but yes there was not much available. I was on the verge of giving up and stay where I was. I don't even know if moving 1 section away for only 6 rows lower was a good/wise decision by me.

  • Just upgraded my 2012 single 1/2 season seat to a sec. 113 full season seat. If your in the market for a single seat there were quite a few options. The only bummer is that I was going to miss 1 game going into the schedule release and of course its the :49ersmall: game. oey! Still excited to get a great upgrade.

lol I was debating on buying a single seat since upgrades are easy and just sell off tickets at face, and then in the rare case my wife can't go to a game then I get to take advantage of the better seat. But that's a lot of work lol

  • got my seats in 2010 way back in the double letters. 2011 moved down to "W" and last season moved down to "I". "I" sounds like its a bit further back but its actually the 3rd row of the 300 section not counting the loge, awesome seats!. needless to say there wasn't anything better to upgrade to this year.

Thanks for the reply. You are correct, below is the response I got back from the ticket rep. Maybe the info will help someone else.

"Thanks for checking in. Since you had a 4 game pack last year, you have priority to upgrade to a full season ticket package this year. We won’t be offering partial packages this year due to high demand for full season tickets. We will begin contacting our priority deposit holders at the end of the month to discuss available seating options."[/quote]

Just to update, I just got off the phone with my rep. I got two seats in section 308 row qq. The rep said theyre going fast but theyre still a few available. So those of you still hoping for a call, keep your fingers crossed.

  • Essentially what I was told as well. I didn't put my deposit down until December 21st so I'm probably out of luck this year. I can't swing club seats otherwise I'd probably be good. That's just too rich for my blood at this point in my life as a new grad from UW. Gotta work my way up the totem pole before dropping 4-5K on a pair of seats.

I think that will be very close with that date and you will have a shot. may be up high i nthe corner but gets you in the building.

before you bail on club go check out what they are lsiting them for on craiglists! you could sell a few games and really help subsidize things. then you could always downgrade next year. worth runnign some math. i agree, they are spendy.

  • Really bummed out today - Called my rep since its May 1st and maybe they will get to the waiting list soon - Was told they are still giving out tickets to those who bought the 5 game packs last year - He said they still have another 2 weeks of game packs to go through and that there will probably be no tickets left for anyone on the waiting list - says they only have a couple of hundred tickets left and they are going very quickly - Kicking myself for not buying the 5 game pack last year - I signed up in late October and thought I had a great chance for tickets - I guess not - He says I will receive a waiting list number for next year - But I'm thinking unless the Hawks have a bad year (and I hope they dont) then I will be in the exact same position this time next year. I guess I will try for single-games come August but thats a real crapshoot and then theres always Ticketexchange or Stubhub

  • That sucks! I also put a deposit down late Oct. My rep told me he would contact me on the 8, 9 or 10. I can only hope I get something. If we are on the waiting list we get priority for single game tickets anyway; at least I thought that was the case but who knows.

  • Seems like my chances get cloudier and cloudier each day for tickets this year....anybody care to explain to me how the priority for single game tickets will work if we don't get the chance to buy season tickets this year? Do they just give you like a presale code for them before they go out to the general public or how does that work?

I guess if I'm unable to get season tickets this year, I'll be happy to settle with being able to grab some seats at face value for a few games this year.

  • Interesting. As I said, I place deposit dec 3 and as of yesterday was told "should get to that part of priority in the next week - should be close but still looks good for tickets".

I guess that means severe mixed messages coming from reps or folks not remembering the dates they put money down.

  • It seems very unlikely that anyone on the waiting list would get priority for single game tickets, but I guess maybe.

Typically as a season ticket holder, there's a presale for single game tickets. They haven't done it in years where there was massive demand, though, or they've restricted it tightly i.e. maximum four extra tickets per account, maximum two tickets per game... that sort of thing.

The NFL wants a certain percentage of the tickets sold to the public, it's a requirement for every team to set aside a certain percentage for this.

  • To finish my thought, I suppose they could do a similar presale for people on the waiting list, just a day or two after the season ticket holder presale. That would make sense.

  • I just want to know if I'm going to get in or not this year haha.....I guess the couple grand I have set to the side could be set to better use if I don't get seats but man that'll suck.

Hopefully at the very least if I don't score seats this year that my wait on the wait list will only be a year and I can get in next season.

I wish I was in a better position to be able to get in the season ticket list when the team sucked a few years ago but funds just were not adequate for this at that time. Oh well.

Sorry to hear that. Do they not give you the option to purchase regular seat if they come available or are you strictly in club seating. I hope they get through Oct and still have a couple hundred tickets left. I'm crossing my fingers at this point.
