The Question:

In 1977, who did the Houston Oilers select with the future 8th round draft pick they received from the trade with the Seattle Seahawks in 1976 in exchange for Steve Largent?

Bonus points if you can give a brief career history of said player.

Your prize will be a heartfelt "Attaboy", and the shear pride you will feel from your internet search awesomeness.... 8)

P.S. I'll use a larger font on the "Attaboy" if you said you knew it from memory.... :P

Something like that isn't an internet search contest (or it shouldn't be).

I have no idea. Great question.

So is it Eddie Foster or Steve Davis? Cut and paste your research... One of the two is correct...

I googled "Houston Oilers 1977 Roster" and clicked this link:

http://www.jt-sw.com/football/pro/roste ... l/1977-hou

Then I clicked all of the rookies and saw which one was drafted in the 8th round. I have the feeling that I'm completely overlooking something though, haha.

Great question, I have no idea ... although to be fair it is more Houston Trivia than Seattle.

I'm not giving in, just 'cause I seemed to have actually posted a good stumper... I'll wait to hear a definitive answer from here first before I divulge where I learned the answer...

DING DING DING DING!!!!! Congrats and "Attaboy" V1rotv2.

I found the answer when I stumbled across this article on the internet:

http://www.texnews.com/texsports97/oilers063097.html

And the clip from that article?

- Steve Largent. The Oilers drafted the Tulsa receiver in the fourth round in 1976, then marked him for waivers in training camp. With a shrug, they traded him to Seattle for an eighth-round pick the following year. The Oilers used that pick to draft Steve Davis, a wide receiver from Georgia. Davis didn't make the team. Largent, the NFL's all-time leading receiver when he retired, made the Hall of Fame.

Here are Mr. Steve Davis' Awesome stats! I'm sure Oiler fans were thrilled about ten years into Largent's career with the 'Hawks...

Steve Davis:

1977: Jack Shit, and cut in pre-season. Biggest robbery in NFL History, IMO.

Steve Largent:
