Josh Portis - QB - Free Agent
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Seahawks plan to re-sign free agent QB Josh Portis.
Portis was signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent following the 2011 draft, but he has never appeared in an NFL game. The soon-to-be 26-year-old was cut from the practice squad last November.

Yes! Hope he takes advantage and proves to be a great back-up!

I remember his throwing to be erratic. He needs work on his accuracy pretty bad.

More of a #3 project than a solid #2 IMO. Glad we are bringing in someone familiar though with potential.

I got the impression his nerves were a part of the Oakland game. He just needs some more snaps maybe. He would be a fine resigning imo.

I like it he knows the team and hopefully he can prove himself worthy next year as a backup.

Hope he comes back. I know, I know a lot of us geeked out over his performance on few drives in Preseason 2011, but if he could build on that, and he starts picking up some of Dangeruss's training traits....

...it'd be cool to see him succeed. I'd like to see how he handles read-option plays.

Portis makes Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, Tyler Thigpen and all the other dude's we've been talking about look like Hall of Famers.

Wow that's kinda harsh. Admittedly, he's not the coolest passer under pressure, but there are aspects to his game that could be improved upon, especially with Russ around. I'm glad he's back, and at a very reasonable price I'm sure. He in all likelihood isn't going to see the field anyway.
